Well, with the Apocalypse book and new toys up for pre-order on the GW page, I went and ordered a book, some terrain and some figures.

....They were all for Bolt Action though. 10,000 yen for an expansion book? I think not!

Apoc was never a big draw for me anyway. I play it rarely to never, and when I do it's always very casual. In such games, there's no reason not to just stick with the rules we have now, if we play em at all. We don't need this new book, and for ichiman they can forget about impulse buys, too.

The new Forge World books (e.g. Fall of Orpheus), contain rules for using superheavies and gargantuan creatures in 6th ed.

Full rumour dump from Bell of Lost Souls.
We got two big kits coming for the new Space Marines. Here are the latest details we've heard:

First let's catch you up on the existing rumors:

The codex is not Ultramarines heavy. There will be a much broader spectrum of Chapters.

There will be supplements for the more famous chapters: Ultramarines, Imperial Fists and White Scars, and Raven Guard were all mentioned. White Scars are the first out the gate.

The cover of the new dex has apparently got Sicarius on the front, while the White Scar Codex has a bike squadron racing towards the enemy.

Expect to see loads of new weapons and squads. Possible inclusions are:
-Land Raider Terminus (4 las cannon sponsons)
-Larger form of Terminator
-"Big Kit" is a massive Dreadnought that is similar to an oversized Contemptor

Here's the new stuff:

Regarding the "larger terminators" - these models are described as being similar in aesthetic to the curving shapes of both the Contemptor and Tau Stealth suits. Bigger than current Terminators - but smaller than a Dreadnought.

Regarding the "big kit" - this model has been described as being the "lovechild of an existing Dreadnought, and a Contemptor - but ENORMOUS. It has also been described as a "Knight". Just as the Eldar Wraithknight was somewhat of a transposition of the Eldar Firegale Knight from epic, it would appear that the Space Marines may be getting equivalent stablemate. How much you want to bet it costs the same as well?

*edit* but thank you for the update, nonetheless. Wouldn't want you to think we don't appreciate your sterling efforts keeping our fingers on the pulse of GW.

Thank you for that most eloquent and elaborate response M_i_J. Reading it was like having my brain massaged by Shakespeare and Chaucer. I infer from the almost poetic nature of your post that you are a shade less than enthusiastic about the forthcoming release of a new Space Marines codex? :D

That would be an accurate synopsis of my feelings regarding this forthcoming offering, yes. Just to be clear, I intend no disrespect towards you, the author of said informative bulletin. You are, after all, naught but the conduit. I reserve my less than stellar reaction for the news contained within and those who produced it.

Hmmm. Flyers. Big robots. Super heavy, you could say. Huge creatures. One could be forgiven for calling them gargantuan. Does this strike anybody else with a touch of déjà vu? No? Seem a bit similar to certain other products produced by a certain well-known miniature production company? Could it be that they're...changing the rules of the game to force players to spend double, even triple the amount of money needed to play 5th ed? First it's the introduction of allies - why have one army, when now you need 2 to be competitive? Then it's the addition of huge, 100pound models. Next, it'll be a creeping points drop across the board, necessitating more models on the table. Come 7th ed, they won't need an apocalypse rulebook. It'll all be in the standard 40k rules. (Not that that'll prevent em from selling one for 75quid anyway...)

Ask yourself this: If someone put down a Baneblade in a normal game of 40k these days, how much would it stand out?

Yep, GW like their money all right.

Personally, I think a Baneblade in a game* would be cool. (Probably cos it would be mine).

*As a rare occurence, plenty of notice for the opponent and with a suitable scenario.
