Pictures of NagoyaHammer 2012
...aaaaaaand here they are! Come one, come all! Roll up, roll up for the greatest show in the universe....
NAGOYAHAMMER 2012!!!
First up, some games in progress:
As with previous years, Primarch supplied a nice variety of tables (constructed in years past, I believe by him and Badruck. Your efforts do not go unappreciated, chaps )
A big tip of the hat to everyone for having fully painted armies across the board. I can't put these pics in any kind of temporal order, but here are some random snaps I took on the Thursday:
Stormboyz, looking a bit lost, but very macho nonetheless
Compensate much?
Primarch's deathless horde did very well, and in fact came in joint first. Probably something to do with both the team members having a gestalt machine intelligence
Typhus (um, Dlord's, I think. Correct me if I'm wrong, please)
There were a lot of terminators in a lot of armies.
Quick! Strike a dramatic pose!
This got messy, fast - BikerNobz and wyches...
Some choppas, getting chopped, by the looks of it...
The IG and Desert Scorpions worked particularly well together, visually speaking.
The Dark Eldar Dads' cunning plan for mission 2 worked a treat. Run away!!!!!!
then gun em down
This Storm Raven gave us no end of gyp. Razzinfrazzin melta proof shoebox
Finally, at the end of the day, it was a tie for first place: Prim's necrons, Danguinius and UnderDweller's Blood Angels/Tau combo, and InakkaDakka (Carnalfex and Muttoneer) (Deathwing and Tyranids) Ikeda-san very kindly provided 6000yen worth of vouchers for his store (as well as bringing along a lot of very reasonably priced GW stuff. Big thanks to him for supporting the event.) Prim d/qd himself due to being the TO, so the prize was split between For the Greater Blood and InakkaDakka.
The painting contest was well stocked. Huge apologies to all - there was such a rush to get the minis back on the tables I wasnt able to get proper pics of them individually Something to improve for next year, I think. I took a few quick group shots and cut them up in Pshop, so theyre a bit zoomed in and grainy Gomen nasai to all.
Vehicle and monster Category:
Unit Category:
Single mini Category:
It was very difficult to judge the winners, with single mini being especially buggersome. In the end though, it came down to:
Vehicle/Monster - Ichibanpainting's Ultramarine Land Raider (which you can vote on at CMoN here, btw)
Best Unit - Asch's Grey Knights
Best Single Mini - Tenorikuma's Wood Elf Lord on Bambi.
I did manage to get some decent pics of the single mini winner, so expect to see him gracing your entry portal to nagoyahammer some time in the near future
and one with a background wot I made up...
So, a big thank you to Prim for organising the event, Ikeda for sponsoring it, and also a special thanks to Dan for organising a very fun mini tourney of Warmahordes on day 2. I'd urge more people to get involved next time if you can - it was a lot of fun.
Till next year, then...
I'm off down the pub...

The photos I took all turned out pretty crappy. Next time, I'm going to bring my Nikon and a macro lens.

A Wood Elf on the NagoyaHammer Portal! - *He faints with unabated and uncontrolled joy and rapture* Wait till me an Tenorikuma team up for the Fantasy Tournaments - then you will all see how Bambi dishes out the pain ...and possibly poop

Really? I didn't know that. The Underdweller wrote:Ikedasan doubled the prize money to 3000yen per person when he found out the there were two winning teams!
That was very very generous of him, I hope that everyone said thank you.

Very nice work people. Stunningly beautiful tabletop armies. Very nice entries to the painting competition. And a big hurrah to Ikeda for being awesome and supplying some big prize vouchers.
And I have to say, the most stunning aspect might be how very beautiful dynamic battle images came out. I guess part kudos to the camera man for finding the nice angles, but also kudos to the very organized tabletops. In my experience and expectation there are dice and models lying everywhere. I see almost none of that and in once image the dice have been very neatly stacked. That is amazing.
