This one is short and sweet, but packs one hell of a lot of excitement in a single sentence:

Summer of next year, the first product in Privateer Press’ all new science fiction setting Level 7 will be released worldwide.

Yeah, I was kind of excited about that. It'll be interesting to see what they come up with, setting- and model-wise.

ooh. and aaah.

quite excited about that, but at the same time apprehensive. It wont (cant) be on the scale of 40k in terms of scope, so runs the risk of being underwhelming. Still, I like PP a lot, so I wait with baited breath to see what they deliver.

Ooooh, maybe I can finally a play a scifi minis game where the fluff doesn't make me cringe! :oops:

I'm kind of hoping they play to their strengths and put together a tight skirmish game. The core "2d6 + modifiers" system of Warmahordes would want some fine-tuning (especially the shooting game) for a move to sci-fi, but I can really see a lot of the basics working fine for most any genre.

Heck, they could pull a Rogue Trader and just export the whole Iron Kingdoms setting into Spaaace! :mrgreen:

(No, I'm not actually advocating that, heh.)
