Re: Who else is a Star Wars geek?
I used to really like SW, but since the prequels it's kind of lost its charm for me. Trek never did it for me. Too...nice. The most recent trek movie was good, though. credit where it's due.

Yeah, it is a bowl of apples and oranges...nope, I canna' do it, I can't choose to just have one in my life. I'm a greedy geek
To be fair though, Empire Stikes Back is the only Star Wars film that really filled all of the criteria for awesomeness. (George Poo Lucas ruined everything when Darth Vader turned out to be a the whining offspring of a crazed woman with a messiah complex - Damn you George.)
I enjoyed Babylon 5, too, all those years ago. Shadow ships...oh yeah!
I think Deep Space Nine is just a nose ahead of Voyager.
I also enjoyed the Star Gate and Atlantis.
Oh, and Blake's Seven, that was quite novel for its time.

Star Wars has more severed lims. Point set match.

If severed limbs are the match winner for you, you might want to watch the Saw movies instead. Far more removal of appendages.
If you, or anyone else, has the patience to watch this review (it is in 7 parts) it explains very well why Star Wars has managed to reach a level of suckiness that Star Trek can only dream of rivaling.

I liked this quote 'This was so genius I have a feeling that George Lucas had nothing to do with it and probably fought against putting it in the movie.'

You are more than welcome sir. And yes, that quote is pretty much spot on.kojibear wrote:Cheers SpevnaSpevna wrote:Admiral-Badruck wrote:Star Wars has more severed lims. Point set match.

Light sabres are cool. Not cool enough to carry three incredibly lame movies though.
The Star Wars universe is a very cool one.
Episode four was great. Cheesy, hammy, but great.
Episode five was the best one of the bunch and perhaps one of the best sci fi movies ever made.
Episode six had Ewoks. Mediocre at best.
The three prequels were bad beyond belief.
