Unfortunately the daemon won! The saint didn't get back up then next turn either, although the game finished in turn 3 due to time. Don't know what kind of daemon it was, big ugly thing with wings! There is a pic of it on finecast's (Justin number 3) facebook page that he linked to earlier.
