NagoyaHammer 2013 Painting Contest - pictures

Post by me_in_japan » Sun May 05, 2013 1:48 pm

Here are some pics that I took on the day. I was rather wroth to find out that I had forgotten to set my camera to RAW mode (I'd been on a trip and needed quantity over quality) so I'm afraid the pics could all do with a bit of tweaking that they shall not be able to receive. Also, for some reason unbeknownst to me, I dont have any pics of Tbear's huge great Empire Universal Whirligig Wagon (or whatever it's called), so if anybody does have pics, please add em to this thread (or mail em to me and I'll update this post.)

Also, apologies for those whose minis are blurry. I was in a right hurry and folks kept jiggling my arm. Meh, I know - excuses, excuses...

To paraphrase the boy Lard, "can you back off the lens a bit?" :) That's an extremely narrow depth of field you're getting there. Modern cameras are that good that you probably don't need to bother with macro mode for miniatures photography.

Yeah, I know it was a narrow DoF. I had to do that cos the hall was pretty dark. It was a macro lens, so I didn't have the option of non-macro mode.
