Interest is easy. It's the painting that gets me. :D I'm planning on getting the starter box for FFG's game too, just to see what that's all about.

The KS Preview Video is available.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7LnVQzyBmM

Some highlights:
Approx 45 models per side, expect Gibbering Hordes to have more and Abyssinia to have less.
Units consist of X minis on X team bases. E.g. A unit can be 3 minis on 3 bases for a total of 9 models.
The renders look great!
Similar card system to Malifaux with cheating, triggers etc.
Players have strategies similar to Malifaux.
There are a handful of dual faction minis.

I asked on the Wyrd forums about the team bases. The renders make them look pretty chunky, but the final design should be a little more discreet.

As I said in the first post, it's a unit level game, so you have units of models running around rather than individual minis.

I'm unsure about unit bases for a game that isn't either rank-and-file or 10mm or smaller, but I'm prepared to let the mechanics convince me of their usefulness.

On the other hand, I dig "pre-assembled" and the models are certainly both pretty and characterful!

Understood. I have no doubt the game will play just fine. I was more concerned about the financial outlay required to buy 45 wyrd minis. At 12-15quid a pop for 3, 45 (the stated "normal" size game) could well set you back a very good deal indeed. And that's not even factoring in larger monsters/robots n stuff. It's possible the KS will mitigate this a bit. I'm still interested, but 45 minis seems quite a large buy in. Heck, I haven't even painted that many minis this year...

*edit* heck, I haven't even bought that many minis this year, discounting X-wing (the "-24 in my sig is pre-painted X-wing stuff)

Here, by the way, is a Thing...

Apparently this Thing is called Bundle of Holding and they do periodic offers on RPG stuff. The Wyrd Facebook page brought it to my attention that you can currently get all the Through The Breach stuff as pdfs for about 29USD for the lot. Or just 15USD for the basics.

So I bought some. Cos that's a good price, and I was only a few days ago moaning about how hard it is to keep up with Mali fluff. Plus, I get to feel all warm and fuzzy about not torrenting stuff.

@All
The kick starter have been already opened. I'm going to join this.
Could you tell me which faction are you going to take?

Hmmm, looking at the current status of the KS, it looks like 15,000 yen + Shipping gets you:
28 infantry minis (3 units of 9 and a commander)
1 giant, stompy mini (Robot or monster)
Rulebook
Cards

Since it started, the only stretch goal reached has been to upgrade the rulebooks to hardback. A lot of the goals look pretty weak, unit fluff in boxes, cards available online, etc. The stretchgoals for extra minis look to be optional add-ons rather than free.

While I think the game looks cool and the minis are nice, it's not really doing an awful lot for me at this stage. Honestly, I'm going to wait and see how the campaign goes before pledging. 15,000 Yen isn't that much to start a new game, but if I need to spend double that to get the minis I want, it becomes less of a bargain. There are no early pledge bonuses either, so no rush there.

@Komura san - I'm going to wait a while before I pledge. If I do, I'll probably get the King's Empire forces. The campaign runs until the middle of January, but most changes will happen in the first few days and the last few days.

In my (to be fair, fairly limited and mostly from the sidelines) experience with kickstarters, I kind of think modest stretch goals are a good sign - lots of stretch goals tend to slow things down in the fulfillment stage. *coughHawkcough*
