Here's my story about Japanese miniature manufacturer and its coming game system, just for your reference.

I've been in Tokyo this weekend to join an academic conference.
On my way to home, I've stopped by Nakano to visit Giant Hobby, a brand new Japanese miniature / game system manufacturer. It's a tiny shop, something close to private manufacturers like Perry Bros's, I suppose.
They've produced good variety of miniatures, and they are on sale at the (only) shop I visited and web shop. You can see their pics here (http://giant-hobby.com/shop/html/)
Some of them looks bizarre and funny. I like the "Infighter type 6," bucket-headed robot and "Myconid," mushroom guys ;)

Giant Hobby has also announced launch of the game system, named "Cyclops" for its miniatures.
I've talked with one of the two guys managing the shop, and learned good deal of the system. It's played on a checkered board, and built around the concept of arena battle fought by two summoners.

I've bought two mini robots and a mushroom guy. When I painted them, I'll bring them to Joshin events.

That looks cool. It's nice to see a Japanese company producing some new mini games.

Some of the English names seem a bit literal. For example I particularly like the Hook Bear, a bear with a hook for a hand. However, I think that adds to the charm of the models. :D
I'd be interested in trying the game out when it is released. It sounds like a good idea.

There's a lot of fun-looking miniatures in there. And any game which allows a mushroom-themed army is OK by me!

There are some cool figs in there. I will add my praise of the mushroom men!
