Hey,
Well, I just ordered myself the SotTR rulebook and a starter force of German Mech Grenadiers.

I also ordered a special box set that includes all the miniatures needed to play one of the missions from the rulebook. The mission is called Snipers! The set includes 2 German snipers and 12 american G.I's.

As soon as it arrives I'll start running demo games. It looks cool!

(And yes, I know I already have too many games, and that I have too many armies for the games I have).

I understand what each of those words means, but when you string them together in that combination it just doesn't make any sense. How would such a thing be possible?

My wife keeps saying it. I think it's some kind of Japanese that got mangled up in the translation. I think she is telling me to buy more? :?

Having spent some time reading up on the game whilst waiting for my order to arrive, I found the following info.

In the game, all models of the same type (e.g. humans) have the same stats. Essentially all humans are as bullet proof and as capable of punching a tank as any other. The only differences between models lie in their wargear, gun and special rules. E.g. conscripts will have poor armour, shoddy guns and no special rules whilst veterans will have great armour, better weaponry and special rules all over the place.

The game runs on a standard d6 system and effectively the target number to roll is always a 4+ (I think). Special rules, cover etc will modify your rolls. Guns come at different levels e.g. weak anti-infantry up to super heavy anti-tank. Armour follows a similar system. If you hit a regular infantry chap with an anti-tank gun they are pretty much done for. When you shoot a model it is either killed, knocked down or unhurt. (Similar to Necromunda). Models knocked down have to test to get back up or be removed from play.

Best of all, the basic rulebook is supposed to contain rules for all the major vehicles used in WW2. Essentially this allows you to pick up some plastic model kits from any source and use them in the game. The scale is roughly 1/50-1/56, but most plastic kits like Tamiya come in at 1/48. This should be fine as your figures will all be on bases which will make them appear a bit taller, and 28mm models are usually too broad for their scale so they look bigger than they are.

As soon as I get my models and rules I will start running demo games.
