Not to gravedance, since they had some cool ideas and some pretty cool models, but blaming "trading conditions" when it's more likely just the inevitable end result of shoveling half-baked games out the door and then completely failing to support or update them over and over and over and over shows a certain lack of self-awareness.

They did update their games, pretty much constantly over a short period of time. Then they'd get distracted by something and several years would pass before they remembered they had a game to finish. The Other Dave wrote:http://www.tabletopgamingnews.com/spart ... s-closing/

I think that in 9 years they had produced:
Uncharted Seas (2 editions)
Firestorm Armada (2 editions)
Firestorm Planetfall (1 edition, 2 if you include the early version they made with the guy who left to form Hawk Wargames)
Dystopian Wars (2 editions)
Dystopian Legions (1 edition)
Armoured Clash (1 edition)
Halo Fleet Battles (1 edition)
Halo Ground Command (1 edition)
Plus a range of scenery.
So that's 8 games and 12 editions in 9 years. They could probably have focused a little more I guess.

Yeah, I phrased that poorly. "Stretching themselves far too thin" was the basic idea I was going for.
