Turnip 28
Turnip 28
Your eyes are not deceiving you, there is a game called "Turnip 28" and it looks just mental. Sharpe's Rifles, meets Blackadder in a Heironymus Bosch painting while making a TOOL video. There is a real old school "Realms of Chaos" Games Workshop vibe going on. The rules previews I saw were hilarious. Got that old school "Realms of Chaos" tongue in cheek, black humor vibe going on too. Must not ...start....gluing basing turf....onto....Admech/Chaos cultist kitbash......... https://www.google.com/search?q=turnip+ ... 4&dpr=1.09
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

Re: Turnip 28
A lot of the people I follow in Twitter are varying degrees of deeply into Turnip 28! For all that it involves mostly sticking various kinds of medieval helmets onto Napoleonics, then putting twigs and grass sticking out of them, it's a really cool aesthetic. And yes, very Realm of Chaos - I'd probably describe it as Ian Miller's answer to "Blanchitsu." "Milleresque"?
Feel free to call me Dave!

I like the aesthetic a lot. This may be a weird question but, are there rules? Because I can't find them on the website. And all the models are kitbashed/custom, right? Turnip 28 feels more like the title of the aesthetic than a game, unless I'm missing something, which is very possible.

Re: Turnip 28
I just searched for Turnip28 Rules and found some by (I presume) the guy who started the whole thing off.

Yeah, "Milleresque" is spot on!

It looks like you don't need much to play. A box each of Perry's Napoleonic minis, Perry's War of the Roses minis, some static grass and you're pretty much set I think.

I found the latest rules here https://www.facebook.com/groups/7559922 ... 2337925115Grantholomeu wrote: ↑Tue May 17, 2022 11:40 pmI like the aesthetic a lot. But yeah, it was odd, that the designer's actual site did not have the current rules in their entirety. I think Prim's link goes to the core rules, just the basic how to move and shoot (or more (in)accurately flee, blunder, and perish). None of the Cults or fancy units and things are there. I hope I didn't just pirate them by accident. They were described as a "Living Rulebook" so I assume it's pay as much as you want on the Patreon.

Oh god, there is more, "The Swollen Maglette". More madness, more root vegetables. https://www.reddit.com/r/Turnip28/comme ... et_is_out/

So, is this something people are actively considering or just a "hey, look at this weird stuff" kind of thing? I have enough spare bodies from various historical collections to slap together some kind of root vegetable themed mob, but only if I know they stand a chance of seeing the tabletop.
