First and foremost, I want to run an event that the local players want to play in. If people from other areas want to come along, that's great too. The number of gamers in Japan is always going to be much smaller than the gamers in the US or UK, so even with heavy promotion on Dakka Dakka or Warseer, the potential pool of players is still tiny. Honestly, I'd rather focus on getting the local Japanese players to come along, as they represent a fair percentage of players in Aichi/Gifu/Mie.
One thing I will be doing this year is separating any kind of narrative from actually winning games. Players can play to win, play to their story, or if they are good enough, do both.

Would love to see the local Japanese players come along, too.Primarch wrote:I'd rather focus on getting the local Japanese players to come along, as they represent a fair percentage of players in Aichi/Gifu/Mie.

Well, the poll has been up for a while now and the results show a 50/50 split over the day of the main event. Since the Saturday voters actually took some time to explain their rationale, I'm going to go with them.
Saturday is the 40K event, Sunday will be open tables and demos.
A tournament or a campaign event seems far more easy to judge, so we will be playing a campaign game.
