Quick question - when making a warband and buying a magic user or a leader - do i also have to pay for the spells/skills separately? Or are they included in the base cost? The term "may select" made it sound built-in...am i right?

No, skills etc are extra. I need to reword a lot of stuff it seems.
The only time skills are included in the price is when they are listed by name next to the Stat block.
