@Miguelsan - No LoW's during the main event. At 500 or 750 points per game, it will be a bit of a squeeze getting them in the list. If you will be around on day 2, why not see if anyone fancies a game using LoWs, formations or whatever you like. :D

@Spevna - Hmmm. How about this, where troops are compulsory (i.e. Mission 2), take your compulsory spannerboyz. Where troops are optional, it's up to you if you want to take them. Just don't forget that depending on game results, some minis may not be available to you as they go into your Mission 3 reserves.

@All - Same goes for any other compulsory units (mainly FW lists I guess), if that slot is compulsory for the mission, take your compulsory unit. If it isn't, don't worry about it.
While we are on the subject, if you need unit A to change unit B's type and you can't take unit A, you can't take unit B with it's alternative unit type. (E.g. Marine Bikes are Fast Attack, but can be Troops if you have a bike mounted HQ. Mission 1 doesn't allow HQ's, so you can't take Marine Bikes as troops.

Sounds great. I'd love to try Bolt Action and Warmachine as well. Here's hoping I can get some factions organised or borrow some minis at least.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

I was just asked about using Harlequins at NagoyaHammer. Obviously, their Demi-Codex can't fill certain compulsory slots. So, for the purposes of those people who want to use the Demi-Dexes, you can take allies to fill extra slots using only the following combinations:

Eldar+Harlequins
Dark Eldar+Harlequins
Imperial Guard+Stormtroopers (I'm not using their silly, new names)
Mechanicus+Skitarii

As an I love myself 2016 I'm buying some old school IG figures from a guy in Osaka including 4 (I think) of the metal IG assassins. If I were to get one into play do I have to use the latest pseudo-dex? IIRC WD 65 has the rules and it goes like FoC elite slot: 1 assassin bring something else to fill out the rest of your army. Optional formation: Bring all 4 assassins and somebody else to count the bodies :D

No formations, so if one assassin counts as an elite unit, then use it as an elite unit. You can use the IG dex in combination with the assassin rules if you want.

just a thought, but more and more these newer dexes really rely on formations to function, particularly the demi-dexes. harleys, haemies (and likely assassins) are heavily dependent on formations. i realise that in some of the earlier books like marines the formations were an addition to the basic dex, and an overpowered one in some cases, but for these smaller dexes the formations are so heavily integrated into the rules that you can't really play without them.

Perhaps it may be worth reconsidering the "no formations" blanket rule and changing it to "don't be an asshat and spam asshatty units" instead?
