Under my current resolution of 'finishing the stuff I already started before starting new stuff'', I'll be bringing my early war French as I'm working on getting them finished at the moment.

If i can get everything done in time, it'll be a primarily inexperienced army of French reserves...

I'll be there with my SS. Can't wait.

Can anyone recommend a good sealant for metal minis? I've used a decent coat of Mr. Color spray varnish, (matte) but still had a couple of small chips while in transit. I know matte isn't the best but I'm kind of apprehensive about giving another coat of gloss varnish, followed by matte.. but will consider it if anyone recommends doing so.

Anyone else experienced a similar issue with metals?

I use a brush on matt varnish and that usually does the trick. Avoiding chips is down to a combination of factors, decent undercoat, varnish and foam carrying case. Even then, it's possible to damage stuff. If you haven't even had a game with them yet, I would recommend using a different varnish.

Cheers Primarch,

Will give the brush on varnish a crack.

I use a spray on gloss varnish for protection, then a matt over the top (like the Mr Color Spray) to remove the gloss.

Some stuff still gets chipped occasionally though - the downside to metal models! :(
