Dropzone Commander
Remember those purdy miniatures I lined in the minis thread a bit back? Well, the site's live:
http://www.hawkwargames.com/
*drool* Very purdy stuff, including a planned range of modular resin city scenery. Tantalizing hints in the rules FAQ (the rules aren't out yet):
Alternating activation, with each player commanding a smallish number of "battlegroups" and taking turns activating them. I love this - it's one of my favorite things about Epic and AT-43, and one of the things I find most frustrating about 40K and Fantasy.
Weapon ranges are determined by the target unit's level of electronic countermeasures. An interesting idea - reminds me of FoW's to-hit roll being dependent on the target.
But man oh man, I can't afford a 100GBP investment in a game I may never play right now.

IT looks very interesting. I like the models.
Maybe most interesting and tempting is the scenery they advertise. It looks great. Especially if it works for 6mm! or 15mm!

I could, but I figure a 100 GBP investment in the games I already play may be a better option. The models do look very nice, but we have yet to see anything on the rules or how they play. The Other Dave wrote:I can't afford a 100GBP investment in a game I may never play right now.

I took a quick peek. Cool looking minis. Little surprised at what you get for 60 pounds though.

The terrain looks great I could see that stuff working on a FOW table.

@DL - Yeah, the army deals seem to be just a convenient way to start your force rather than any real saving in value.
@Badruck - Note that this game is 10mm, FoW is 15mm. Thats quite a big difference. On their site they say that other company's terrain may fit their game, but there is no mention of theirs fitting other scales.

Plus of course they're all modern-like.
Still and all, at least pictures like this 'un:
Give me all kinds of ideas for terrain.

Re: Dropzone Commander
Oh my gosh! That's beautiful and really unique. I've never seen terrain with that kind of ivy growth or the view of an abandoned city.
Good picture if you want people to become sorely tempted, too.

Re: Dropzone Commander
Terrain certainly makes a big difference to the enjoyment of a game. Playing in an abandon city would be all kinds of awesome. Looks like there isn't much room to maneuver though
