Well, the Beasts of War videos sold me and the trigger is pulled. Objectives-based space battles with interesting-looking orders and firing mechanics and sweet sweet space ships, who could ask for more?

I'm in for at least a Lieutenant pledge to get the Shaltari fleet. My glorious hedgehoggy forces will be victorious above the planet as well as on it. :)

Lots more PHR ship renders are up - I'm kind of lucky that, while they're awful cool, they don't hit my MUST BUY button like he walkers in DzC do.

Looks like MiJ and I are splitting a pledge, so I'm going to have a demo-size UCM fleet and (with an appropriate bolt-on) a more or less full Scourge fleet, woo hoo! I'm kiiiinda in the dog house for such a big charge to the card, but it's all in the name of spiffy-looking spaceship battles.

Fear ye not - thanks to a spiffy ebay sale a couple of weeks ago I am very much able to pay you back asap. Your money is merely resting in my account, I assure you :) I shall PM you regarding technical stuff shortly.

Also, as ToD is aiming at the Scourge as his main fleet, I shall be having the other half of the deal which means I'll have a demo sized fleet of Scourge (from the starter set) and a somewhat larger set of UCM. Like Dave, the PHR and Shaltari, while very nice and all, dont make me come over all tingly. Probably for the best...

So, he and I shall be available for demos of DFC in our respective areas come June next year. Already quite excited :)

(but that's likely just the kickstarter buzz...)

ps - It's also worth noting the size of these ships. Small, they aint. Lots of space for jubbly wee details... :D

Might have to get a third fleet after launch after all.

Edit to add: Ooh, in a Dazzle pattern.

PHR? The P stands for phallic, right?
Overall, the ship designs look pretty good, I can see why this is such a popular KS.

Why did I have to see this? My budget was looking so good.

How did I not even know this existed? Funnily enough, after seeing that Rick Priestly was doing Gates of Antares I wondered whatever happened to Andy Chambers. Looks like I found him.
