These do seem pretty uninspired. I'm willing to bet the designers were explicitly told "No Pirates!" "No Steam-punk Captain Nemo!" and were left with nothing to work from. :D The second I saw the crab I started humming, "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid. And that helmet....in the long, long history of silly hats on elves, that has to be in the top 10.
I've always wanted to do a Moby Dick themed warband of some sort for some game or another. Maybe this is a good excuse. Or maybe I'll just read it again.
“...to the last I grapple with thee; from hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee.”
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

IMO the 3d shots in the trailer show them off a bit better:

All 3 elves look pretty dynamic really, to my eye, the sword-and-board especially.

What we can see of their cards looks pretty interesting with a squint. Looks like all the elves, anyway, can move or charge with a move token, which is huge - although, considering the way Idoneth work in AoS, I wouldn't be surprised if they lose that ability when inspired. And the fish just straight up has no stats and can't take actions? Funky, but it seems like they might be 3 elves and a crab and there's a bunch of fish floating around too, rather than a 5-fighter warband per se.

For more imminent releases, Path to Glory did their walk-through of the new orcs, and they sound pretty solid! Yet another Direchasm "good but not overwhelming, with a strongly-defined niche" warband, which you love to see.

When it rains it pours - the article about the Silent People themed card pack is up. I'm not great at judging cards just from the text* - there'll be lots of articles up soon doing a better job of that than I could anyway - but I do think it's a really interesting (and, again, new-player-friendly) move to have it a complete, game-legal deck you could just unwrap and play with any warband.

*Although the Silent Armor upgrade that lets you strip guard counters off enemies does look pretty juicy.

Incidentally, I've finally, like a full year after people started using it, wrestled Tabletop Simulator to the ground and (I think!) figured out how to get Underworlds to run on it, if anyone'd be interested in getting some games in that way!

Hai! Yes please! I can maaaaybe show you how to play MtG in TTS in return, although that’s a big maybe. I’ve done it before, once, and it was fine, but that was under the gentle tutelage of my brother. Without him guiding me...I’d hedge my bets...

Groovy! Keeping in mind my own experience with TTS is woefully limited, and I can't do too much in-depth checking of how stuff works because of the way Underworlds (doesn't) work with hotseat play. (Like, Jye: would both players need to have the appropriate TTS mod, or just the hosting player?)

But!

What kinds of time frames might work for you guys? And it looks like you'll want to put your deck(s) into underworldsdb, as that's what they use to generate decks in the app.

I believe only the host would need it but no reason not to have everyone grab it.

Tuesdays, Fridays or weekends are my best bet.

Cool! The mod is updated on the Warhammer Underworlds discord server - I guess GW doesn't like TTS support out in the open in the Steam Workshop.

any evening after maybe 9ish is good for me, with a few random exceptions where I've got other stuff planned (fr example, this saturday I've got a dnd session). But generally, I should be good most evenings after the kiddoes go to bed. I have a couple decks thrown together on underworldsdb already (as thats what i use for deckbuilding anyway) and tbh my current knowledge of the game is so woeful I wouldnt know where to start with a new deck anyway, without some chat/research/test games.

but anyway, aye - I'm game.
