Stuff wot I did in 2016

Post by Spevna » Thu Jan 14, 2016 4:00 am

I want to give In The Emperor's Name a go, so I've put together an Eldar squad.

Most of these were done last year, but I added two new boys to the bunch, a Warlock and a Plasma gunner

Owld Skewl for the win!
I don't know how ITEN slipped past my radar. Most interesting. Hell, looks simple enough to run a full-sized 40K game with.
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

He only problem is that they are on a 3rd edition of the rules, but using the 2nd edition rosters that have different points to the 3rd edition. An inconvenience, but easily worked around.

They were written by the bloke who did In Her Majesty's Name.

I'm curious how I missed it, too. Surely somebody must've mentioned it to me?

Im pretty sure I have mentioned it to you mate. In fact Andy played a game and passed a comment on this very forum when I mentioned I was interested. This was all a while back though, so easily forgotten dude.

aye, I genuinely wondered when it had been brought up, because I knew dang fine somebody would've mention it. Well aware of my own dippiness, mate :?

Anyway, happily, this evening my brain is in gear, and I've d\ld the rules and am perusing them now. Also signed up for their list builder thingy. So far, I like that they have 5 different flavours of eldar. 5! count em, baby! And hell, Exodites! What's not to like?

I played a couple of games of In The Emperor's Name, but I wasn't keen. In particular, using the same stat for physical toughness and psychic power/mental fortitude seems like a big flaw. There's no way to do a physically weak psyker with great mental power (e.g. Inquisitor Ravenor, for an extreme example, although a high-level Imperial Sanctioned Psyker would also count) or vice versa (a Weirdboy with limited psychic ability, for example).

I know nothing about the game, but your miniatures look great.
