I believe the effect our fine Yellowstreak achieved was done using GWs Agrellan Earth technical paint. Its quite good but a bit finickity to get just right. :)
Yup. Black undercoat (to emphasise the effect) and Agrellan Earth in varying thickness. It shrinks as it dries and leaves the 'cracked' effect.

Oh and it can be brittle, so a layer of GW 'Ardcoat over the top to keep it all in place.

In line with the 2016 goal of "finishing stuff", I finished off the Bretonnian Bloodbowl team I started about 2 years ago. I still need a couple more plastic blitzers to finish the team off, but for now it's done...

Painted my first Frostgrave warband member. Had this guy for a while and was looking for a good excuse to finish him off...

I like it! A great model nicely done. My own Frostgrave snow basing hasn't really worked out as well and I need to revisit it. What is he going to represent? Since there are no Ogres in the game, the Barbarian would be a good fit. He's a bit of a beast on the tabletop, unless luck is against you.

Finished up some figs I had lying around for Frostgrave. Will be picking up a box of the plastic soldiers while i'm in Australia to make up the basic warband thugs/men-at-arms etc.

I'm assuming Thrud will be played as a barbarian, but what's that plan with the ogre?

Plan? No plan  ....painted the ogre first then remembered I had thrudd so painted him too!
I'll use my Sisters of Sigmar as 'troops' until I get some of the plastics painted.
