Totally agree with dnoodle and DL on all accounts. It is spammy and okay if both players know what they are getting into first hand. It is also beautifully and fully painted so some criticism can be spared. And it is certainly a tournament list, but it may be very frustrating for casual or fluff-going 40kers to go up against.

That is exactly right.

Hahahahaha!

Just run the list through Army Builder, it comes to 2004pts. I mean it's only the cost of a grenade upgrade or something but just goes to show what kind of mindset is at work here. Even if my proposed lists come to 2001 I will fiddle with them until they are just on or even slightly under.
How about you?

I'd've thought a tourney list would have to be equal to or under the defined limit. Sneaking over by even 1 point would be a disqualification, I'd've thought. At the very least a clip round the ear and a telling to sort it out before the next game.

Btw, how do you know it's beautifully and fully painted? Mike's pic is rather dark and blurry, but it's clear that the barges have no sails and the vens have no bling on em. Now, I could be wrong and maybe it's all beautifully detailed up close, but the pic makes it look like a black undercoat with some airbrushed edge highlighting. (not that there's terribly much wrong with that - it pretty much forms the basis of my eldar vehicles, too. The difference is, I acknowledge mine were hastily cobbled together and are still very much in need of finishing.)

I know it looks spammy but I am fine with it spam. As long as it is in s tournament. In a friendly some units are too spammy to make the list fun to play or to play against.

I don't care if it's beautifully painted or not. I don't know anything about the rules, so I can't comment if it's "cheesy" or not. But looking at that deployment zone tells me everything I need to know. He's playing a game to win, not fighting a 40K battle. Fair play to him, but I'm not taking part. :)

If it is well-painted, I can look at it, but it doesn't change my opinion about playing against it.

Honestly, painted or not, I wouldn't even bother unpacking my minis if I saw that sat across the table from me.

For those of you coming to NagoyaHammer 2012 (or any of my events), that kind of armylist will get you your cash back and directions to the nearest exit.

Really?

Forgive me for being the only one here that thinks. This list will get completely owned. If some one with a few drop pods shows up. No one has done it but stern guard with combi plasma and heavy flames would eat this list up. If you want to call things spam there is always the Death Wing list. Is that spam or fluff? I look at terminators as very hard to kill one could take all THSSnaders throw an assault canon in each and unit and they would own this guy. What is this I won't play that list what if the nid player shows up with an all stealer army. Is that fluff or spam. That would give this guy a run for his money.

The more I look at thi the more I see wholes in the list. Is it my idea of fun well yes and no.. Is it fluff take our the baron and it might be.
