Regular (and irregular) events in the Nagoya area can be posted up here. If you want to get your gaming fix, this is the place to look first.

I am trying to get the mondo game night to be a regular event...

Middle of the month on a friday night. Say the second friday of every month.

What do you all think?

This would be a MTG, Blood bowl/ other board games. Kind of event. No 40k or FB.

I think it's a great idea.

I'm worried about my own availability since we're moving, though. I'll have some nights free in Nagoya, they just might not be on Fridays. We'll have to wait and see.

I'll be trying to make it. I'm pretty sure I can as long as the staff no we are coming.

I also like the ring of "second Friday of the month". We know when it will always be, so we can plan and expect it to be there. Also it bridges the periods between Joshin days for the Nagoya crowd and Friday nights don't compete with weekend events in Tsu, Ogaki or anywhere else.

That seems like a good idea. Sure, I know I can't go, but you're dead right when you say it bridges the gap between Joshin days and (crucially, for us Mie-ites) it doesn't impinge on weekend gaming attendance here.

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

A fixed day each month would be a great start to getting a more steady number attending each time. I like the idea. :D

(Off topic but in regards to what MiJ said about impinging on weekend gaming here and there, I would like to say again that if it were feasible, rotating the location of our gaming group is OK by me. We are all within an hour or an hour and a half of each other. I am not keen on the idea of dividing us into areas, better to be the Aichi gamers! Maybe be I aim too high.)

Sound good so far I am making arrangements for it now. The staf seem very keen to do it.

I may be able to come occasionally during the second half of the year when I don't have much I the way of club activities.

I think it is a good idea to bridge the Joshin gap too.

As for "It doesn't impinge". Sadly, I think it won't help getting people to attend other places outside of Nagoya to game at. Most people can only game once two or so times a month. So those who attend the Mondo event will almost definitely won't be willing to come to a Mie event.
But seeing that there isn't a regular event down here. I don't think it matters much anyway. (btw, I am not bitching or anything. Just stating an opinion. I woe be happy to see more gaming events and placing going on. )

I really would go to any event on a Saturday. regardless of Friday gaming events.

I can game outside of Nagoya. I travel any distance for FOW and just about any other game, but usually my weekends are my working periods. So if I get a 2-month advance notice on a date I usually can plan for it and show up.
