Just a thought.... Price for these models is crazy. Even GW is cheaper.

Re: The Painting and Modelling URL Resource collection
How so? Their 32mm minis are mostly 10euros, which is about 1200yen. A GW elf character model is 2300 yen. How does that make Figone more expensive? That, and theyre not using finecrap, too. Anything at 20euros or more is 54mm scale. Like I said in my previous post - these are intended for display painting, not gaming. Mostly they're not 32mm, but the ones that are are really nice sculpts and might be useful for some folks. Hence the link.

Another wee goldie - Stephane Simon, aka Egotyk on CMoN, and ex-Rackham sculptor of 9 years (did some wolfen, the ophidians, and those bitchin' good Molochs) has a wee blog wherein he flogs his own personal sculpts. It said to PM him for details, so I did, and he replied within a minute with a very polite answer to my query, and also with some pretty darn reasonable prices. Not cheap per se, but well cheaper than many of the boutiques out there.

So, if any of these tickle your fancy, shoot him an email and he'll get back to you tout de suite (see what I did there? Him being French, like... )

OMG!!! That is an insane amount of detail and realism . I guess you'd get quicker the more you did those same techniques. But OMG!!!! That guy is without a doubt a master.ashmie wrote:Website for scratch building houses

I've seen this guy's stuff somewhere before, but it really is amazing, innit? The amount of detail is unbelievable.
At first glance it looks all but impossible, but some of the techniques are actually quite simple when you get down to it e.g. brushing plasticard with a wire brush to produce a wood grain, making punches out of old brushes etc.

I've seen it before too. Amazing stuff, though there are quite a few people in the model railroading community who put that much effort into super-realistic scenery. It's much less common in wargaming, I think.

Re: The Painting and Modelling URL Resource collection
Just to follow up on a post a bit further up - I received 3 minis today from that ex-rackham French bloke I mentioned (Stephane Simon, aka egotyk) and daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn but they're good. I'm sitting here in actual awe. I have never in all my life seen such finely sculpted models. It's actually even finer than Studio McVey stuff, which is really saying something. The detail is phenomenal. What's more, since the chap casts them himself at home, he has totally gone the extra mile and already cleaned up the models for me. There are one or two teenie air bubble holes (inevitable when casting resin) which he has filled perfectly. He has also removed every single mould line. Again, it's imperceptible where he's done this. I only know its been done because the minis have not a single detectable mould line on them, and that's impossible. Absolutely above and beyond. Can't recommend him highly enough.

A gallery of the British Comet tank parked outside IWM Duxford in the UK. It's been standing outside for a while now and is showing some rust and weathering.

It's been a while, but I figured that a good tutorial is never a bad thing. Here is a nice clear tutorial on how to paint:
1. Black (in an interesting way)
2. Space marines
3. Shiny things
I.e. A shiny black space marine.
