@jus - Nice building! Sorry not sorry for ninja-ing the predator!
Which means that now I can start working on a Chaos force, so I can play against other people who have marines?
What have I become!
I think they're pretty much there, aside from most of my line troops footslogging it. And lacking a librarian. (I was *this close* to picking up the primaris librarian they had...)kojibear wrote:Nice one Dave, your scythes of the emperor are slowly reaching fully operational status.

I am up in Aomori and Iwate for a weekend with the Mrs and then a work gig. Brought a few plastic vikings with me to put together on the working nights.
Aomori is famous for its apples and there is enough of them here to keep many a doctor away
, if you can afford them...

@ K-bear: Aomori apples, you could start advertising them as an alternative to having health insurance in America pretty soon.
I had some drinks with some colleagues tonight. It is good feeling toasty again after a few beers. However I have to report early to the school tomorrow, so there won't be an opportunity to do anything hobby wise until my 3-day break. I'll make a commitment here to at least get started on the horses for my French Dragoon regiment.

Re: What did you do today.
I've put brush to mini again these past few days, working on some Norse ladies (pics once there's owt worth showing). I've also assembled a few mdf things, watched The Defenders (it was ok. not great, not crap. Just, y'know. OK) and started playing Prey. I'm not sure I get Prey, exactly. It's much more Deus Ex than I was expecting. I was anticipating more of a Dead Space vibe (alone, confused on a space installation, being attacked by wibbly gribblies), but it's much more...slow than that. Not slow in a boring way, once you wrap your head around the play style, just slow in the kind of way where you can spend ten minutes or so reading through employee emails on some admin's desk in an attempt to find the code for an office door halfway across the station. There's a lot of walking around looking at stuff. And...I don't know if I'm just spoiled after Doom and Dying Light, but the graphics are...bland? There's not a lot of shadows, and things are borderline cartoony. I dunno, maybe I'm just too used to grimdark in my games recently. Anyway, for all it sounds like I don't like it, I actually rather do. I'm just kinda waiting for things to get going a bit more (2 hours in, still no psychic powers or anything. Just a shotgun and a wrench. Which, to be fair, have served me well so far.)

I spent a few hours this evening on terrain, as I have for every evening this week and as I will for every evening next week.

Re: What did you do today.
My last little bit of painting before I leave for the States this afternoon:

Geez, why did I never do plasma glowies before? So easy.
For September's game day, I want to finish up this whole squad of 5, a dread, a predator, and a new sergeant for my sternguard. If I don't fall off the painting motivation wagon, I should be able to, knock on wood.

Re: What did you do today.
Today I did more work on terrain....
I also finished watching Marvel's: The Defenders. Not bad, but not great. Of the 6 seasons/shows in the Netflix series, it wasn't the worst, but it was very far from the best. I think the best shows are the ones which have had the best villains. Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, David Tennant's Kilgrave and Mahershala Ali's Cottonmouth have all been really instrumental in making their respective shows good. Plus I found Elektra to be fairly dull and there is only so much of Finn Jones grimacing his way through an hour of TV that I can handle. Looking forward to the new Punisher series though.

@ToD - you're fair churning out these spess mahveens. Impressive work.
@prim - I concur with all of that. I prefer evil elektra to good elektra, mind you. Easier to believe.
