What did you do today.
Re: What did you do today.
@Primarch, Oh no! What a shame! All those magnificently muscular men would've been perfect for April's Gauntlet theme but you seem to have have jumped the gun on that one.
While I'm here to shamelessly plug the amazingly chill lets-paint something-that-vaguely-matches-the-monthly-theme-painting-event contest, I would like drop the voting link for last month's entries here as well for everyone's convenience.

No worries. When it comes to painting to a deadline, I AM the Big Gun.Karantu wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 11:01 am@Primarch, Oh no! What a shame! All those magnificently muscular men would've been perfect for April's Gauntlet theme but you seem to have have jumped the gun on that one.
The winter painting challenge I entered is over and I have cleared up my desk a bit. To recap what I painted in the last three months:
Historicals:

Misc. Fantasy and SF:

WFB and Specialist Games:

30K:

40K:

And everything together along with a mugshot (one of the requirements for the end of the challenge):

Over the last 3 months I have painted 441 minis. Between December 21st 2019 and December 20th 2020, I painted 382 minis. So, in the last 3 months I have painted more minis than I did in the entire previous year.
Painted Minis in 2014: 510, in 2015: 300, in 2016 :369, in 2019: 417, in 2020: 450
Re: What did you do today.
You might as well slather yourself with Nuln Oil and enter yourself in as next month's entry. I don't think that's technically against the rules.
But in all seriousness that's a lot of miniatures in a really short period of time. It's more than some people (Including myself) have built and painted in their entire lives for sure. Congrats.

That's a hell of an achievement, @Primarch, you should be justly proud.
(that looks like a few Crusade sized 40K forces in there, just saying)

@All - Thanks for the kind words. One tries. I find the trick to painting so many minis is to be clinically insane and devoid of reason. Works a treat!
@Jye - Roll the rules back a few editions and I'll probably give that Crusade thingie a try.

Re: What did you do today.

I wanted an aggressive looking Repulsor in case I ever get the chance to roll it into my Crusade and buy the melee upgrade (which would not make it *good* but would be *hilarious*). Bit of a rush job and lots of spots that could use fixing but I'm happy to have it off the backlog.
"Procrastinate Exorcists and the Triumph" is a really awesome way to get basically anything else painted apparently.

Agree on both accounts!Karantu wrote: ↑Thu Mar 25, 2021 8:01 amYou might as well slather yourself with Nuln Oil and enter yourself in as next month's entry. I don't think that's technically against the rules.

Great work Prim. A result and effort to be proud of and well deserving of a mug shot.

I painted a thing! Meh, I'm a slow painter, but progress is progress, no?
Here's two pics. One taken with a (pretty old) DSLR with macro lens, and one taken with an iPhone. Which is which...?

No idea but they look great either way! That's a nice set of despoilers.
