So you don't want shiny metal, but you don't want it looking dark either.
I'd suggest painting in the joints a little (elbows, wrists, back of the knees etc) with either black or a dark grey. This will help break up the metal areas after the highlight.
Although not shown in the picture, all the 'soft' joints have already been painted black to break up the silverness.

I painted these up for Inquisitor/Inq28.

Nice! I particularly like the Imperial Navy look, since I first saw it with the Voidsmen in that style they did for Kill Team.

Inquisitor is great for all the kitbashing you can dig into. Looking great!

I finished up another Ravager over the past couple days:

Dour Kragan. Presumably dour because his horn broke. I wouldn't want to do it for any kind of batch painting, and really should have broken out the wet palette for it (contrasts don't agree with a wet palette so it's been shut away for this project), but I think I've got a handle on the NMM finally.

And here, just to wrap up the spam with this particular project, are all the Ravagers done:

Now I need to wait for the rain to stop to prime my next couple things in the queue...

Nice colour scheme, striking band

Priming wasn't great and the somewhat random paint scheme didn't rescue it, but it's one unit (and 5PL) down, so a good start to a 50PL Golden Week.

Drazhar and the Incubi. Probably needs a wash on the bases but counts as done.

That's all my Blades for Hire done. Not sure whether to keep going with the blue or switch to different colours for Laval/Coven/Cult.

Today's result is "barely enough Coven to do their part of a Realspace Raid".

Still on track but I have some gluing, priming and prep so I probably won't aim to finish another whole unit till Tuesday.

Raiders take a long time to assemble! Kind of scared how long they'll take to paint!

Note: most of the difficult stuff is crew, bling etc, I could have made this much easier on myself.
