Choppas getting more AP also seems like a welcome change. This gives me hope for Tau pulse weapons possibly getting -1AP too but who knows what other sorts of wacky stuff will be out by then.

I'm definitely not complaining! I think Guard are less affected by this change more than anyone given how much strength 10 blast weapons we have. Although my biggest worry is that Boyz will go the way of the Tactical Marine now that these big bad Primaris Snagga Boyz are here. I just hope they're priced well.

Also I genuinely hope lasguns end up with AP -1, although that's probably never gonna happen.

The lasgun is still going to be as good as before against both types of boyz for sure. From the next point update leaks it looks like boyz are still costed the same but who knows if they're changing it in the codex, although I doubt its going to change. The biggest difference in IG vs Orks is probably going to be heavy bolters being less efficient against both boyz and potentially bikes.
Also when it comes to old boyz vs beast boyz, the new ones are going to be more expensive for sure and since they will still die almost as easily as the old ones the new ones are still going to have a solid place in lists as both a cheap objective holder and a ranged unit.

Lasguns getting an AP boost is probably unlikely given previous editions but even Tau Pulse weapons are pretty iffy. If they give Pulse weapons AP-1 they might end up turning around and giving all Bolt weapons AP-1 too since in 7th they were both AP5 (as in ignoring saves of 5+). Anyway, that's all up to GW so we'll see what they do when those codexes come out eventually.

Made me think of old Monster Manual critters like the Rust-monster and Hook-horror and Xorn and things. Nothing from mythology or literature, just some geek's imagination.

I probably won't go so far as to buy any, but I like the new AoS terrain:





Maybe because after 30-odd years playing wargames almost exclusively across ruined landscapes, some terrain that's actually the opposite - buildings under construction, anti-ruins - just tickles me. (And also speaks to what I like about the AoS fiction, as this actually reflects changes to the setting. Forces of Order going out into what used to be 100% Chaos wastes and reclaiming and rebuilding after the world-shaking events across the last edition that actually shook up the fiction rather than just giving us the same status quo with a new coat of paint.)

I just saw this! It's not confirmed yet, but they definitely don't look like beast snaggas. An upgraded Boyz kit is probably the best thing they could possibly do for Orks.

Just in time too, since I was just about to pick up some more for my shootas.

Yeah it's not confirmed yet but they don't look like any current kit. Hopefully they aren't priced too horribly, though I already have plenty of Boyz so they'd have to include something extra special for me to buy any.
