Today I did a little more work on my Thousand Sons. Not much to be honest, but at least I feel like things are moving forwards.

Re: What did you do today.
I finished up this, er, absolute unit today:

(The kit is from Miniature Scenery.) As an MDF kit it has its limitations, but it has about 250% more character than the standard Plagueburst Crawler*, and I'm quite pleased with how the paint turned out.
*It's kind of cute the extent to which it's clearly designed as a proxy for the PBC. Same armament, same footprint on the table (less volume because tentacles, but still), basically the same height.

@ToD - Nice work. I think your kraken-bot came out right after the PBC, and is a great looking stand in for the GW option.

@ToD That looks... (restrains from saying 'sick') awesome!
I was in the Volk's area the other day and I couldn't help but pick up this cool Morgana model.
By coincidence on the train ride home, I saw BigChildCreative's Facebook post announcing the model and apparently I got it on the release date.
But with no assembly instructions, let me tell you, figuring out where all the ravens go was no small task.

If it makes you think you might get tetanus just from picking it up, I've done my job right!Grantholomeu wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 5:38 am@ToD That looks... (restrains from saying 'sick') awesome!
That Morgana model looks sweet - what's the scale on it?

I can never remember the actual numbers for scale. It's about 4 inches tall.

@ToD: Is this because I painted a black spot on my hand? It does look sick though! well done. The weathering and the metal especially.
@Grantholomeu: Very nice. I think this was a kick starter thing. I believe this one along with the other Authurian range is 75mm scale
Speaking of scale, the new ork boyz are a little heftier than previous gorilla boyz. Behold.

As you can see a primaris marines are still head and shoulders taller but I'd say the Ork boy at least looks like it could be Toughness 5. They also look pretty cool.
I'm also feeling the onset of non marine army syndrome, questions like "hitting on 5s? whaddya mean hitting on 5s?" and " why is everything dying?" have played upon my conscience during moments of soul searching.

Well, in addition to some assembly I also did some Japanese practice. I made a questionnaire in Japanese to see what the person who possibly knows me best thought about me in relation to some grim dark astartes trivia.
According to her I:
- prefer swords to guns
- prefer defense to attack
- like the color green
- prefer to walking to driving or flying
- would be a bear if I were an animal
- I put my morals before the mission
- pursuing justice is more important than pursuing glory or upholding duty
- I prefer living on a planet than in space
- my honor is more important than victory at all cost
Great Japanese study. I learned that duty equals ぎむ 義務 and honor is めいよ 名誉.
I reckon she knows me pretty well!
But what space marine chapter is this???

2. Imperial Fists
3. Salamanders
4. Um... Ultramarines. They march for Macragge.
5. Er... I'll go with Imperial Fists. (Though I'd have said Wolf (and therefore Space Wolves) if you'd asked me).
6. Salamanders
7. Over glory - Salamanders, Raven Guard. Over duty - Heresy?
8. That could be a lot of chapters. I'll say Salamanders because they have a strong tie to volcanoes and their home planet.
9. Thats a lot of chapters, hmm. Executioners. (Badab War renegades who only joined the rebels as a point of honour, then switched teams and surrendered when they realised the Astral Claws were up to a lot of naughty things).
