Just to double check as I work on lists: Jye, we’re doing 1750 points, and Karantu, we’re doing 2000, right?
Feel free to call me Dave!

Yeap. I'm thinking about fielding 2000pts without titans or aircraft since that seems the simplest for now.The Other Dave wrote: ↑Fri Dec 24, 2021 10:14 amJust to double check as I work on lists: Jye, we’re doing 1750 points, and Karantu, we’re doing 2000, right?

Yeah I just double checked my list and it's 1750 on the nose. The Other Dave wrote: ↑Fri Dec 24, 2021 10:14 amJust to double check as I work on lists: Jye, we’re doing 1750 points, and Karantu, we’re doing 2000, right?

Great! My list does have a couple of little (2- and 3-DC) war engines in, so if you want to try out a superheavy or something feel free - the rules for war engines (unlike the rules for aerospace operations) are really pretty strightforward.Karantu wrote: ↑Fri Dec 24, 2021 10:32 amYeap. I have a couple of war engines, just no titans which seem to have a few more extra rules. The Other Dave wrote: ↑Sat Dec 25, 2021 3:16 amGreat! Btw, how important is the warlord upgrade? Is it optional for something like CSM where everyone has an initiative value of 1+? (So 2+ on 2nd activation at worst?)

If you have 50 points, it's nice to have. Remember that any unit with any blast markers will be at -1 to activate, and the combined assault ability (being able to drag a couple extra formations into an assault with you) is real nice, especially for small-formation forces like CSM that'll tend to be outnumbered.

Thanks for the advice! I'll see if I can manage to fit one in then. I'm at an awkward 1975pts at the moment and its a little tricky to make accurate adjustments. The Other Dave wrote: ↑Sat Dec 25, 2021 4:13 amIf you have 50 points, it's nice to have. Thanks for the great games today folks!
Matt was a great sport playing into Knights and while I think it would have been closer if he'd won first turn...well, that did not happen. I'd like to think Invincible Flail Princess would have survived the game either way.
Dave deserved to win our AT game but it happened to end while I still had enough Warhounds to be standing on the things.
The highlight was probably Matt and Allan's game - the Boxing Day test, the Ashes! It seemed like Matt narrowly carried the day for Australia and the Imperium but it was an incredibly tight and bloody game, looked absolutely awesome.
With that it's clear the Imperium has run away with the Charadon campaign, not least due to the unrelenting efforts of the Tarsonian Ashwalkers. It's been a bit tough with very few Chaos players able to make it recently, but we can always give the next book a shot and see if the alien and the heretic can get their revenge.

Thanks to The Underdweller and Grantholomeu for the two games of Malifaux today, and to everyone else for the chatting and good atmosphere.

Thanks to The Underdweller and Primarch for the Malifaux games. Big turnout this month.
I'm starting to think death ball is the best strategy for the pigs. Also remembering to score scheme points seems pretty strong. Gotta try that sometime.
Hope everyone has a good holiday season!
