A nice chonky tonk!

I finished up the Dire Wolf for my Legio Mordaxis battlegroup that's been languishing on my table for a bit:

Unusually for me, even after building and painting it I'm still not too hot on the actual model, and that plus one particular aspect of its design (namely, two individually-built pistons for each foot where the provided piston bar isn't long enough to allow even the very minimal posing I've done here) makes me not too keen on getting a second for my Gryphonicus force, but oh well. Frees up shelf space and hobby funding for the Warmaster I've been thinking about for who-knows-how-long. :D
Feel free to call me Dave!

@ToD - Nice work. An extra heavy, light titan was always going to be pushing the designer's skill, but making the pieces fit should still have been a bare minimum.

Part of me loves the diverse sculpts, but part of me hates that I need to nit-pick different, little details on such weak models.

These are cool! We used to play this little skirmish game called "Strange Aeons", an H.P Lovecraft inspired thing. These would be great for it.

That's a nice Titan, Dave, sterling work. I kinda like the big gun on the "little" mech!

Great Malifaux work as always too, Grant!

I have a sneaking suspicion they expected everyone to be a seasoned Forgeworld modeler and do what I saw a lot of seasoned Forgeworld modelers do and "just" replace the piston bits with brass rod. Which, forget that, man.

While I do love Dave's titan, I must confess that it's Grant's Malifaux stuff that inspires me to actually pick up my brushes and paint. Which I will, just as soon as I get over the goshdanged frickin frackin covid wot me and my entire family have just come down with. I mean, I realise that given how things can go with it I shouldn't complain, as comparatively speaking nobody here is all that sick (in fact my kids are either asymptomatic or recovered in a couple days, depending on which child you're enquiring after), but my wife is totally floored with it, and I'm not much better. I've been out with it since maybe Sunday there, and dayum am I already sick of being sick. Clearly I haven't been praising Nurgle enough recently  Yeesh. Roll on recovery, onegai shimasu.

Anyway. We'll be fine. Good painting, chaps. I hope to join y'all soon.

(I did paint a border extension on a Magic card last week! Paint happened!)
current (2019) hobby interests
eh, y'know. Stuff, and things

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

@M_i_J - I hope you all get better soon. (And maybe you can get back to some proper mini painting??)

What? Nothing more relaxing than a rainy afternoon of sawing and filing brass rod. The exacting measurement, the "Which box is that cutting guide in?", the musical snapping of fine toothed jeweler's saw blades, ah bliss.
