Unfortunately I have a family commitment that day. I’m keen to try out 10th with my pandemic-project Deathwatch, hopefully in August
So many games, so little time....

aye, that sounds doable. Honestly, I'm easy. As long as I can get in a coulple of games, I'll be a happy camper. I think I'll stick with DG, btw. I don't think I'd be able to grok another codex before the end of the month. The Other Dave wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 9:11 pmIt might be sub-optimal as a learning game, but two 1000-point DG forces versus 2000 points of something else would work too, especially as there's no longer a force org chart so, say, one of us could focus on infantry and the other on daemon engines, or what have you.
I'll bring a couple lists and be flexible! We seem to be pretty good at working things out on the day.

The family says I can attend, and I am eager to get in some of this new 40k.
I can easily bring 1k or more of orks, but if painting goes well I might bring Space Marines instead.
I'll take a look at the combat patrol rules as well.

Looks like my partner can't make it for Malifaux. I know it's a long shot, but if anyone is still looking for a game (Malifaux, Kill Team, or another board game or skirmish game), let me know.
Re: July Games Day - 7/30 at e-able Nagoya
Here are the dance cards as far as I have grokked it:
Morning -----
ToD vs MiJ and Mattb fielding 2000 points of 40k. Might take a while.
Surg vs Awesomecakeman playing Combat Patrol. Should have time for other matchups in the afternoon.
Jye is available to play 40k.
Auxryn is available to play 40k.
Underdweller can play Malifaux or other skirmish games.
Konrad can play GORKAMORKA!
MikethePike can play Bolt Action at 1000 points.
Afternoon ----
No one has really lined up anything. Looks like it will be mostly catch-as-catch-can.
Suggestions ----
@Jye - How about you and I play a game in the morning? I can bring 1k or 2k of orks hungry for more fighting after our last game.
@MiJ - You mentioned perhaps playing Malifaux earlier. Maybe you could arrange an afternoon game with @Underdweller.

@Auxryn - happy to pencil that in, and we can pivot to a 3 player game if needed. I'll have 2K of Marines.

much as id love to play malifaux in the afternoon, I don't think my brain will cope. I'm super busy this weekend preparing to leave for scotland next week, and I just wont have the time to review rules etc, especially mali, where I'd need to study up on underdweller's gang (and my own again, for that matter). It's going to have to be 40k again, for me.

With you playing a pretty large morning game, especially with a partner, it would be pretty hard to squeeze in an afternoon game of Malifaux anyway, I think.me_in_japan wrote: ↑Fri Jul 28, 2023 1:36 pmmuch as id love to play malifaux in the afternoon, I don't think my brain will cope. I have other things I can do that day, so no worries. I might drop in and say hi if I'm in the area!
Re: July Games Day - 7/30 at e-able Nagoya
@Jye- Sounds great! I should be able to pack 2k of orcs with a smaller 1k list if the situation calls for it.
