And Spent Monday down to Kuwana and played a couple of board games with Dungeon Lord for the first time in a long, long time.
We and his friends Chris and Kayleigh played "War of the Whispers" and "Foundations of Rome". I proved to be neither much of a scheming power-behind-the-throne mastermind, nor Roman real-estate magnate, but it was good, good fun and long, long over due.
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

Great looking ordinance Matt, sasuga!

My assembly binge is actually starting to scrape the bottom of the backlog. I've built Inquisition, Accursed Cultists, a Knight, a Land Fortress and Kahl, Cawl and an AdMech Combat Patrol, a Lord of Virulence, a Land Raider, Impulsor, Librarian, Land Speeder, Storm Speeder, Underworlds team and probably a half dozen other things I've forgotten in the fugue state. I might need to crack open the strategic reserve and see if there's anything I've forgotten amongst the ranks of spare Intercessor bodies.

Then I can spend most of autumn priming them and most of winter painting them, perfect for the lazy homebound life

I've been painting, which has been nice - I may not have the 7 plague marines I want done by next Sunday, but definitely I'll have 4 of them, so that's OK.

Also I organized all my D6's by size and took stock of and organized all the underworlds-warbandy-type stuff I have unpainted, and also thought about Kill Team for the first time in a while, and realized I'd like to play that again, and spent a lot of time thinking about what legion I want to paint my little dudes for Legions Imperialis, and might have come to a final decision*.

*My thought process:

Thought 1: The new basing means the warhounds won't fit with either of my current legios, so it'd be easiest to start a third legio -> they're all warhounds -> that's Audax -> so the marines should be World Eaters.
Thought 2: My traitor legio is Mordaxis -> they fought with the Word Bearers -> the Word Bearers are the worst -> the marines should be Word Bearers
Thought 3 (the 冷静 approach): My most fleshed-out legio is Gryphonicus -> my knights are all Vyronii, which are likewise loyalist -> a loyalist legion -> I want something with actual colors, which means either Fists, Blood Angels, or Ultramarines -> I've never collected a blue army before, so the 13th.

(I really do like the "future historicals" aspect of Heresy, and Titanicus has certainly dialed me in to that way of thinking. It's a neat way to approach painting and collecting!)

@ToD - But do you want to field (for example) the Ultramarines 12th Chapter, Desert Lions, or the 22nd Chapter, Nemesis?
There is a lot of lore out there.

Some Votann robots and robot appreciators.

I don't have anything urgent on the painting desk but I'm also out of things to assemble and not *super* motivated to prime until I can get a milder day or three. So I'll probably play video games but work slowly through all the primed-but-not-painted models from the last few years I've dug out of their hiding spots.

The obvious next step would be to look at campaigns where the Ultramarines canonically fought alongside Gyphonicus for inspiration - but honestly, at the "company" Ievel I'll probably create some lore to match the homebrew lore for my Gryphonicus battlegroup.

Here's the first 4 of the plague marines I want to have done by Sunday:

(You can guess that I have a similar plan to what mij was talking about in the 40K thread vis a vis melee plague marines...)
If I can get myself to put my butt in the chair for a few minutes a day til then I should be able to get the other 3 done.

Shout out to the gardening section in Seria. 100円 for this decent size pack of various sized twigs which, at Malifaux scale can honestly be pretty much anything from small twigs to small tree trunks.

Completely unironically, I always love a good moose demon. Great paint job too, as usual!
