I was struck by inspiration and smashed out my spearhead terrain set today:

@Grant- I do like the cool, natural color pallete you used. In spite of the crazy horns and bizarro fantasy axe, it is not a totally cartoony figure. Nice call.
@MIJ- Well sponge me! That is nice. I just more-or-less-table-top-ready-finished a mausoleum. I should go back and sponge it up a bit. There is a bit of texture from the printing process, but a bit of sponging might be a good way to obscure that.

Fantastic work!Grantholomeu wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2024 12:55 amCan confirm, nmm is hard. Pretty happy with how the gold came out (there is an attempt or two under the final product). Think I could do better with the halberd. Also it looks more yellow in the photos.
And it's finally time for the files I got in 8th grade to move on to the tool drawer in the sky :')

Re: What did you do today.
I forgot to share these, but I painted them up in time for October's games day - a few more archers for my Slaaneshi spearhead:

Love these Frazetta-ass mofos, I tell you what.
And tonight I finished up the final battery of basilisks for my artillery company for epic:

Planning to finish up the Slaangors for my spearhead next, then either the new ghouls for Underworlds (although availability of the new edition in time for the next game day on the 9th* may do things in one direction or the other for my motivation) or getting into the last bunch of tanks I need for a solid 3000 points of solar auxilia for epic.
*Looking like release day on the day of the get-together at best, which means most of us won't have it in hand, whomp whomp.

Re: What did you do today.
Painting has slowed right down after that because I've been playing Darkest Dungeon 2, which has turned into a better game than I thought at first glance - its modern "FTL / Hades-ish" roguelike sensibilities include new zones and enemy types unlocking as you progress, so my initial impression of "huh, there's only two zones?" was just because I hadn't beaten the first boss yet. It's a different beast from DD1, but still manages to feel Darkest Dungeon-y, which is nice.
Then the remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn drops today, and there's a new No Man's Sky expedition, so I may not be getting much painting done for a little bit.

Re: What did you do today.
I got back from holidays and headed straight for Tokyo so I haven't done much. Not far to go on the World Eaters at least.
Today I was in Harajuku anyway so I dropped into the Warhammer store. They had Xmas baubles and socks already!
...yes, I bought them.

Sounds like the occasion to do so imo
