Because this is a topic that I have to get right..
Most of the posts I make are defending ideas that no matter what I say people will not get what I mean. It could be that I got a good nights sleep last night..

Gee... A lecture about spending more time on here coming from you when you know how busy my schedule is, that's pretty low.

The lesson to be learned is if you want something you need to make sure you are in on the planing or at least aware of what is going on with the planing... rules are made by those that show up.. and spend the the time to get things done. I respect every opinion and I know that Prime does as well. He listens to what people say and right now he is bending over backwards to help you. Be thankful... I sure would not change a thing at this point if I were him.
No, the lesson is that you don't start planning until the rules are officially announced. And don't bother posting your feelings or opinions here as some people just will be nasty to you.

As for Prim, I have no grudge against him and in PM I even declined the offer to change the rules on my account. I fully understand what it is he is trying to do here and I think it is good. However, that does not change the fact that due to the rules being set so late, that a lot of my planning and money went into something that no longer is possible, and I am down about it.

And with you and Spev just kicking me while I'm feeling down, I'll repeat what I said before, with friends like you two, who needs enemies.

Bearing in mind that Voss had no idea I would set the cap at 1500 I think he has a right to be a little downtrodden. Last year the biggest game was 2000. Until I posted this new thread, no-one knew what I had decided but me.

So, that said, I will play Voss in the final game on the second day at 2000 points and we'll both do our best to suprise any viewers with some cool new stuff.

I'll be bringing all my dark eldar. thats quite a lot of points. I havent worked it out exactly, but im guessing around 3000. I intend (hah!) to have em all painted, too.

Anyway, I can def do 2000pts if need be. If it remains set at 1500, thass cool too. I aint fussed.

@voss: re my comment: gomen, I had assumed that you were bummed cos the limit was too high, as that was what the bulk of the discussion was around on the "what do you want" forum. I didnt realise that the problem was that the points were too low. my bad.

@voss re: spev and badruck: dinnae fret, dude. S and B are just opinionating, which goes on a lot around here. Sometimes youre on the receiving end of it, and sometimes you aint. I get a lot of flak for minging about certain rules, but ya just gotta soak it up. The key is: Remember its just a game. I know that can be hard when youve spent a lot of time, money, and creative energy on something, but just cos you cant use something at this tourny doesnt make it a waste of time. You made this project for yourself. Sure, we'll all look at it and say "oooh" and "aaah" but when you get right down to it, its your idea, your stuff, and your plan. Stick with it, I say.

I'm amenable to playing at 2000 points as well, if anyone else also wants to play at that level.

Once it goes above about 750 points (I am in no way advocating for the max size being 750), we're talking the big figure bag, and if I'm taking the big bag, I might as well fill it with cool stuff.

It looks like 2k may be an option on the second day then. The tournament is staying capped at 1500 and the tag teams at 500. This is simply because:
A) Tournament player went over time in the previous 40k tourney, or games got cut short. Increasing points means less finished games.
B) Tag Teams at bigger points values will cause more hassle and confusion.

I have a question regarding FAQ, do you intend to use any "third party" FAQ?

Before the event I will print copies of all the official FAQs from GW. I will also print a copy of the INAT FAQ since it is probably the most comprehensive document I have seen. Their rulings are sometimes overturned by GW as and when they publish their own FAQs, but at least this way everyone knows the rules and rulings before the event begins.
