Oh come on, Dave; you mention Warhammer Forge, but not this chap:

Shame. :)

Our friends in Nottingham have a few:

Then there was the old Thaindon, Elf-Lord of Caledor riding Kargos the Despoiler:
Image

and the current plastic High Elf dragon rider kit is almost certainly a homage to the old Dragonmasters Dragon (released as a High Elf model, but originally sculpted, as were most of the 3rd edition High Elf models, as Meliboneans from when Citadel made licenced Moorcock miniatures):

Image

Cheng Xiao-Chen from the Immortals faction in Hell Dorado is summoning a dragon from a scroll:

Image
(and he's a pain in the danglies to assemble - that dragon is in three bits, which don't quite fit.

Reaper Miniatures make dozens of dragons. I'm not keen on most of them, but I like this one: Image and they do a passable Oriental* one: Image.

Dark Sword Miniatures do a few dragons, based on various well-known fantasy artists' works:

Larry Elmore
Keith Parkinson & Jeff Easley
Visions in Fantasy (scroll down, past the cute animals).
They also do a "Daenerys with newborn Dragons" in their George R. R. Martin line - no pic, because she's "!in the nip", as Fr Dougal McGuire would say. Have a link, though.

*I got into trouble on Frothers recently for using "Oriental" - apparently it's a racial slur to some people.

oriental is a racial slur? It means "Eastern" for gawd's sake. From the UK, China, Japan, Korea etc are in the bloody east. Look at a compass, people. People from there are eastern. thus they are oriental. I'm occidental, and it dont bother me none.

yeesh. PCness will be the end of society, I swear it. Followed to it's logical conclusion the only way to not offend some people is to never speak.

's not a problem here, I might add. So far as Japanese folks are concerned, I'm a gaijin (or gaikokujin, if we're being polite). It means "outside country person". I don't even get to be white, or european. Just, yknow, not one of us. Foreign. Again, this doesnt bother me particularly. I mean, I am foreign.

I often wonder - do the people who complain about being PC or using the correct terms for people actually know anybody who has ever been offended by them? Are they actually a member of the potentially offended ethnic minority? cos from where I'm standing (as a member of a vastly outnumbered ethnic minority) what people call me has never been a problem (well, ok, if they were trying to be offensive Im sure theres all kinds of stuff they could come up with, but...)

aaaaaanyway. back on topic - yah, fair point on the FW dragon. It's a goodie. Yon helldorado chap is also pretty bitchin' cool. I quite fancy one o those. In fact, helldorado is one of those lines I find myself looking at quite a lot and going "hmmmmmmmn. kinda want that..."

@ MiJ: I think you're heading into a sensitive area for many people, especially people who have their identities mixed up in it all. Let's just stay on topic in this thread. (BTW, 外人 doesn't only mean "foreigner" and has other connotations.)

I love that toad dragon! :D Beautifully Ugly!

@job - if you don't agree with me, fine, but don't come on here and try to start an argument. Stop trying to tell me what opinion to have. I'm fed up with it. If you were actually willing to enter into a debate on the subject I wouldn't mind at all, but you've proven time and again that you cannot stand to be disagreed with. At the first sign of conflicting opinions you call foul, get all pissy and start telling everybody what they should be thinking. Yeah, I'm a white caucasian male. I am also a member of an ethnic minority in the country I have chosen to live in. That doesn't bother me. The word "oriental" means "eastern". That doesn't bother me either. Get over it.
