Warmaster was a really good game, very ahead of its time in a lot of ways. Heck, it really laid the groundwork for most of Warlords’ historical rulesets (in that they’re based on ‘something like Warmaster but which is streamlined enough that Rick Priestly can still play while drinking”). But the problem GW has, I think, with saying they’re returning to the Old World, is that lots of people are going to expect (rightfully, to some extend) a cleaned-up WHFB rather than anything innovative in terms of rules, so while something more like Warmaster, or Apocalypse, would fit what WHFB was always trying to do much better, they’ll just have to face yet another hue and cry if they revamp the rules to that extent.

You can please some people some of the time, but you can't please anyone on the internet any of the time. Or something like that.

If they just brought back straight up WFB, they would be competing fairly directly with AoS. While Kings of War, 9th Age and other fantasy games do show there is a demand for "Mass" battle games, I'm not sure there is enough to risk putting out two similar games from 1 company. I would hazard a guess that a lot of KoW/9Age players are using old WFB armies rather than buying up new ones, and they are probably very much aware of alternative makers if they do want something new. Meanwhile Oldhammer players tend to like older minis anyway, so unless GW digs out some old Jes Goodwin designs, I can't see them cracking that market either.

Still, a chance to repackage all their existing minis with round and square bases will also be a good chance to bump up the prices without too many people noticing. GW can't really pass up on that opportunity.

So Gamesworkshop Germany on Facebook apparently posted this.
I can't say much about most of those changes but they seem decent at a glance.
CSM going down makes sense but Daemon Princes are already pretty top tier.

Hot leaks right off the press.
And here's the Reddit thread.
I'll talk about changes after I get back home.

So those aren't all the changes but to sum up it seems that non-codex Space Marines are getting their points adjusted. Some minor changes for the other factions in that leak too.

85 pts for a tree seems a little bs if you ask me. It has several okay buffs, but I don't think it's worth it at 85 pts.

But for real (you know me Karantu) SPAWN at 20pts is ridiculous! They may have a trash save, but any T5 four-wound model for 20 pts is auto-include in my book. And I still think deathshroud terminators are trash, but they're tempting at 25 pts. When the codex came out they were 50 pts lol. 50% off now.

They tried to nerf the nurgle daemon shenanigans I guess? And yeah the second I saw that that spawn were down in points I remembered Mr. Crabs. You clearly don't have enough spawn though right?

Also, FW just released this apparently. The Sabre Strike Tank. It looks pretty awesome but its a shame its a 30k only model for now. Also its FW which means its resin and expensive =C.

Also, it will probably be warped to hell or need a hack saw to clean up given FW's usual quality standards. :D
It's a lovely beastie though.

Warhammer 40,000 Open Day reveals are in!.
First up, the Triumph of Saint Katherine.
It follows the whole theme set by Katakros (The new diorama skeleton hero guy) by giving us another powerful unit with complicated rules that's basically a diorama. Its an interesting way of doing it instead of having a unit with multiple bases and results in some fancy models but a slight lack of customization. But then again, GW has been going more towards dynamic and good looking sculpts right out of the box over ease of customization.

Next up the Adeptus Mechanicus "Flying Chicken" Archaeopter.
It sticks to the general AM theme while still introducing some new themes. I'm not a huge fan of the design and I didn't like their last vehicle either but props to GW for trying something new I suppose. The reveal video seemed to say that this is the last AM transport for the foreseeable future though. I just hope they still have other types of units in the pipeline for AM.

And finally the Grot Bommer, which is a flying fortress of fun, complete with adorable little Grot Bombs. Now that they're done with all the models they released rules for at launch, maybe we'll see a new faction next? Maybe some flying croissants or flying fish?
