On reflection, I really like too how the minotaur giant thing sort of reflects the Keeper of Secrets too.
The Lion, yes, exactly. He doesn't really look like he's actually using his chainsword to dispatch that Night Lord who's about to volkite him in the groin. (Which is fine, I guess, as I'm sure it's one of those two-piece dealios where you can take El'Johnson off to use in a game, so sort of has to do dual duty, but still.) Really nice detail, really lackluster posing.

It is so wrong it's right! Waaaaaagh! Assuming it will still count as an Ork when you are finished.Jye Nicolson wrote: ↑Mon Mar 30, 2020 8:24 amKitbashing is inherently Orky.Balloonacorn wrote: ↑Sun Mar 29, 2020 2:30 pmIs it wrong that I want to buy Ghaz just so I can convert him into something else?
Some hits and misses in that Flamin' Warcry warband. I imagine their war-cry is , "Hot! Hot! Owwwwww! Help!" I like the crazy over-muscled dude with the axe.
The mountain minoutar whatsit is quite interesting. Some of these new panzee thingies almost have an Allan Carrasco vibe.
The 30K diorama is pretty cool. Be interesting to see it from different angles. I think the plan was , "Bold, determined, fearless stride" and just needed a touch more animation.
Fabious Bile has never turned any knobs on my Vandergraff projector. That human skin coat he always wears looks more like a kinky corselet . Must work though, really slims down his waist, even under 200 kilos of powered armor.
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

Re: Let's have a GW rumors and sneak peeks thread!
Whole buncha new stuff in the latest online reveal, most of which is really cool-looking but not much of which is tempting to me personally.
There's a new all-Giants faction for AoS (their answer to Knights, I suppose), and I do like the look of the models:

Plus they're about half as big again as the old giant models. They do all seem to have the same legs, but that's a nitpick.
A new, and apparently the final, Blackstone Fortress expansion, with new giant drones. At this rate, since I'm hot on the game again, I'll pick it up, although I do still need a bunch of other expansions before it.
Dark Elves for WarCry, with a spiffy rippling magical shadow effect:

A new high elf mage, with a really neat but probably difficult to paint veil over her face:

A Snotling team for Blood Bowl?

A very snazzy new model for that one Necron character (Szeras?):

(Oh no, my purple brain goo, I needed thaaaat!)
And a (very) Radical Xenos Inquisitor:

Apparently she's featured in the metaplot fiction these days? At any rate I think she's a really interesting model.
A new Inquisitor librarian, which doesn't excite me, but also a very cool art-inspired Sisters model:

So that's all good stuff! The only thing I'm really exited to get is the Blackstone expansion, and only after I get caught up on all the other expansions, but it's a whole mess of cool models for sure.

The giants are really nice minis, although an army composed of 3 or 4 of them would probably be really boring to play against. Still, aesthetically, they’re top notch.
Swirly shadow elves - ooooh, yes please. Very much tickling my fancy. Only issue is I have no use for another WarCry band, which is a crying shame. Maybe if they brought em out for Shadespire?
Veil-elves - what Dave said. Lovely model, but as soon as I saw the veil effect I thought “yeaaaah...nope. There’s gonna be very few that can pull that off properly.” Still, it’s a nice mini, and hitting people with sadness is an incredibly elvish thing to do
The snotling team is great. Loads of variation and silliness. Reminds me of old Terry Pratchett book covers.
Szeras is kind of a disappointment, as he’s basically just an embiggened version of his old model. Purple brain goo guy is great, though.
The inquisitor - noice! I saw the shuricat and kabalite armour and thought “oi! What’s that dark eldar doing with a crafty weapon?” I love how her armour is baaaaaasically kabalite in style, but on closer inspection is actually quite different. Really nice sculpt.

The new giants are a 3-kits-in-1 box set. So they all share the same legs and, I think, the upper torso. They look pretty cool, but I'm guessing they'll be priced around the same as knights are. The current giant is just under 10,000 yen, so these will probably be at least around the 15,000 mark, in line with GW's other centerpiece minis.
The Shadow Elves look like a good painter's dream. Lots of cool swoosh going on there. I'm pretty sure M_i_J will pick some up eventually and (in the far future) they'll look gorgeous when he paints them.
As for the weaponised-emo elf, do you have a Golden Daemon or Crystal Brush trophy? No? Then maybe you'll need to swap the head out.
The snotlings look cool, especially if you have a plan never to win a Blood Bowl game again.
I like the new Szeras, very alien looking, which I think is good for a Xenos character. The current trend of Embiggenning continues though, so he's probably a little too pricey for my tastes.
The Ordo-Xenos radical, meh. So you've decided to use the enemy's own weapons against them. You're risking your very soul to take up forbidden equipment and utilize it. You're as likely to be killed by your own team as by the enemy. And you pick up a frikkin' shuriken catapult? Of all the possible pieces of illegal, soul corrupting, anathematic wargear you could choose, you go for the equivalent of a bolt gun. Sigh. Could be worse though. The poor sap who decided on an Ork Shoota has it worse.
It's not a bad mini per se, but definitely a missed opportunity to add in some really cool xenos stuff.

The giants are abig improvement on the old model that has been around for... decades?.
Shadow elves: Wow! I will take them.
Other elf, no thanks.
More snotlings is always a good thing.
Nice Necron lord, how does he play?
The inquisitor is nice, I would like to see her special rules before ordering!

Harrumphharrumph! What’s not cool about shuricats? While I’ll concede that, given the option, she might have been better served by grabbing a fire dragon’s fusion blaster or maybe an archon’s blast pistol, you can’t deny that a shuriken catapult is easily the most iconic Xenos weapon in the 40k-verse. Also, am I the only person who likes the kabalite/power armour mish-mash of her gear? I thought it was quite cleverly done.Prim wrote: definitely a missed opportunity to add in some really cool xenos stuff.

Nope - I saw that, too. Basically she's rockin' all the Eldar paraphernalia. I bet you she is secretly a fan with a poster of Eldrad behind her closet door and a biography of Vect under the bed.me_in_japan wrote: ↑Mon Apr 20, 2020 1:51 amAlso, am I the only person who likes the kabalite/power armour mish-mash of her gear? I have to admit I didn't notice, but then I haven't looked closely at a kabalite, like, ever.
