I'm currently painting some sector mechanicus bases and having a lot of fun at how easy they paint and how many cables, pipes, whatever you can paint for extra detail. Really a good original GW product

I've been slowly plugging away at the (fairly uninspiring for me) Khorne warband for Shadespire, making it interesting by pushing my boundaries with skin tones a bit.

Really, when the skin's done, it'll just be metals and various dully-colored fabrics, so they're coming along all right, considering.

skin seems to be coming along well, dave. yon scar tissue is verra pink, mind you. That said, I'm not sure exactly how pink a mahoosive chest scar should be, so by all means carry on

As for me, I've been painting armour plates, mostly. Not a huge amount changed since last time, but actually there's been a couple of hours work done. More armour plates around the sides of the faceplate, and the faceplate itself and the lower armour plate on the teefy bit have been done in oxidised copper. I also did a few pistons and other gubbins on his legs, as well as the left hand mini-gun looking thing. I'm reasonably happy with it, and the copper oxidation gives me another colour to play with elsewhere on the model.

Yeah, the goal is definitely coolness over medical verisimilitude.

I'll probably even be pushing up the contrast with the scars on the two darker-skinned dudes.

Sadly, though, the main light in my painting room has gone kaputnik, so I won't be getting much more painting done til I can get up to Edion on Saturday.

And I really do like that copper streaking effect - a nice way to add color without being too colorful, y'know?
