Today I tempted fate and painted something the day before we find out their new codex rules.

Though honestly there's not much you can do to make Sisters with Multi Meltas bad.

That makes me very nervous, yes.
I finished up Hedkrakka's Madmob for Underworlds:

The purple is a bit more in-your-face than I was really imagining (and Shyish Purple goes on the mental "really very saturated and kind of hard to work with Contrast colors" list), but it makes the white warpaint pop, which was the reason I chose it.

Re: What did you do today.
as I mentioned on the central japan group, i think the purple is quite strong, but the warpaint really works. So much so that I think I'll nick the idea and use it on my own orkses when I eventually get em.They do say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so I guess blatant thievery is the sincerest form of imitation?

Haha yeah, I had reasons to choose purple (needed a nice dark color to contrast the warpaint, green wouldn't work plus I'm contrarian that way, I have loads of blue greenskins already, and my Krushas are already red... in retrospect coal black might have worked, but that has a whole other set of painting issues), but I waver between thinking it was an experiment that didn't quite work and thinking I'm just not used to seeing a lot of purple on orcs in particular. Pikey would be proud, I guess.me_in_japan wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 12:18 pmas I mentioned on the central japan group, i think the purple is quite strong, but the warpaint really works. Re: What did you do today.
The recruitment drive continues. Another 40 guardswomen done this week.
Next up are 30 veterans, which is the last of my infantry. Then on to some more heavy weapons and characters.

You can't spell slaughter without laughter.

Purple Orks are invisible, this is well known. The Other Dave wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 10:39 pmHaha yeah, I had reasons to choose purple (needed a nice dark color to contrast the warpaint, green wouldn't work plus I'm contrarian that way, I have loads of blue greenskins already, and my Krushas are already red... in retrospect coal black might have worked, but that has a whole other set of painting issues), but I waver between thinking it was an experiment that didn't quite work and thinking I'm just not used to seeing a lot of purple on orcs in particular. Great job as always. Shyish purple is rough (as is Magos Purple ime on the opposite end of the spectrum) but you've really delivered with it.
Great job too @Dekana, throughput befitting an Imperial Guard general

For my part getting paint on this team in the hopes of playing them in person soon (Nurgle willing). But with that done it's going to be mostly assembly for a while; lots of Sisters options have improved in viablitly at the expense of the old favourites, there's a brace of new Sisters showing up this week, and I have spare Intercessors to turn into Wolf Guard.

Wait, is this a thing? Somebody made a similar comment on Twitter and I just assumed they were misreading the war paint as camouflage.

It is a thing, though more of a fan meme than red ones go faster/blue is lucky. It did make it into Dakka Skwadron as a reference though, you get a stealth bonus for painting your plane purple. The Other Dave wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 3:08 pmWait, is this a thing?
