Not even GW are/were that daft. Even pre-AoS, it would've been obvious financial suicide to do that. Biggest sellers, and whatnot.
I dunno, AoS was pretty dang daft. :D Like I say, it's the paranoid part of me, which isn't entirely rational.

DARK IMPERIUM almost wraps all the way around past dumb and becomes cool again.

(Actually if you read it it's a pretty cool idea, and reminds me of the one system way back in the Rogue Trader rulebook that was isolated from the Imperium almost always, and when the warp storms abated space marines would come in and rough up graffiti artists.)

*narrows eyes suspiciously*

There are two Xenos books. If they put the Harlies, Crafties and Darkies in separate books I'm going to...well, I'll throw my toys out of my pram, for starters...

Also, what is this talk of "advanced rules", hmm? I was under the impression the rules would be online, not just a kinda free trial.

*continues to watch developments. Suspiciously.*

Also, if AoS is any indication* it's likely that the content of these books will be available for free electronically, to be superseded by full army books for each faction as they put them out.

*And it may or may not be, but we do know that the core rules will be a free PDF a la AoS, so I reckon it's a not-unreasonable assumption.

Predictably, GW chose like the worst possible angle to showcase some of these guys.

Belay that order, ensign! Stow toys back in pram. Maintain course, steady as she goes...

On a side note: my sympathies to the Necron players. Nowt but a footnote in what amounts to a glorified eldar book. Kawai so, naaaaa :(

Also, jeebus. We're up to 5 eldar factions now (if you include corsairs, which I most certainly do.) It's getting to near Space Marine levels. Although, at least the eldar are notably different to each other (ok, Ynnari are pure mish-mash, but otherwise, they're fairly distinct, at least)

@ToD - those jet pack marines are surprisingly nice. The designers have managed to maintain Marininess, while adding a touch of Infinity-ish realism, with all the vents and jetty bits/flaps and whatnot. Job's a good un.

Overall, GW remain in my good books with these developments. If I can pick up the main book and the Index:Pointy Ears for a reasonable price, I probably will. Still on the fence about the box set, though. I don't suppose anybody would want to buy the BigMarines off me? While I dont need any more plague marines, per se, the nurgle characters, the drone, and the shufflers are all new stuff that I quite like the look of, and I could find a use for the Plaguies, I'm sure. Any takers?

(It may be worth noting that any stuff I buy for the new edition will be bought from UK online discounty type retailers (probly Element Games or Firestorm) and as such will: A) Not get back to Japan until I do, mid August and B) Be a hell of a lot cheaper than you could buy it for here. If folks wanted, I could probably pick up some stuffs for you, within reason. Just sayin...)
