Music to paint models by....

Post by Primarch » Sat Dec 25, 2010 1:24 pm

Hey,
My wife bought me an Mp3 player with speakers for Xmas so that I can listen to some tunes when I am painting in my room. The storage space on it is massive and I am looking for some music to help fill it up.
I would like to ask my fellow gamers to propose some cool albums for me.

Here are the rules.
1 post per person
You may nominate 1 album of any genre and any language. I will endeavour to put that album onto my player and listen to it.
Please nominate the album you think is the absolute greatest album ever.
If someone already posted that suggestion, please nominate the 2nd greatest.
No boy bands, girl bands, hip hop or rap.

Thank you all very much.
P.

I dont know if it's your thing, but I love zoning out to Enya, whichever album has her song Wild Child. It was my first Enya album, and I loved studying with it in the back ground.

I know that there is one Album that I love every song on...Black in Black AC/DC

But the Best Collection of AC/DC in an album IMHOrkO is (The Very Best AC/DC)... there are a few songs that I do not like but. it has most of their best songs on it. If I could edit like three songs off that album and add the songs Black in Black and Money Talks it would be the best of all time...

Give them both a listen and choose the one you like...

That's a toughie Prim. and no doubt about it.
There are just too many albums to choose from.

At this moment in time I would probably have to say that "Mutter" by Rammstein is the 'greatest' album ever. No dud tracks there. I dunno how inspiring it would be as painting music though.

Not being one to particularly pay heed to instructions, I also nominate...

Bob Marley - Legend
Iron Maiden - Any of their various greatest hits packages
White Zombie - Super Sexy Swinging Sounds (seeing as you like PM5K)
Morituri nolumus mori!

blimey - I actually have and frequently listen to all the albums people have listed, with the exception of enya. I have no problem with enya, i just prefer more techno-y stuff when im chilling out. Honestly, any of the albums already mentioned are good choices, and particularly maiden and accadacca are ones I listen to very often whilst painting. However, when painting eldar (dark or milk) i listen to:

band: DragonForce
album: Sonic Firestorm

bitchin good stuff, but not to be taken too seriously.

alternatively (aha, mike has opened the floodgates for multiple entries!)

band: 2 bit pie
album: 2 pie island

also bitchin good stuff, and was once described by the missus as "kimochi ii on my brain" (which dragonforce definitely wasnt...)
current (2019) hobby interests
eh, y'know. Stuff, and things

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

In the Court of King Crimson

or the BBC Lord of the Rings audio drama from the 80s is good stuff for painting anything fantasy.
