Hobby stores
Re: Hobby stores
Yes, but probably not in Nagoya.frans wrote:Hello,

Nagoya city has 1 hobby store located near the TV tower in Hisaya-odori, called Yellow Submarine.
I was in there today and they didnt have any. Japanese hobby stores often get new stock in towards the end of the month.
You are near Osu Kannon right?
Take the blue subway line to Kamimaezu (its 1 station away) and switch to the purple line heading for Ozone/Clockwise.
Go 2 stations and get off at Hisaya-odori station. Go out exit 4B. On your right will be a deparment store called Tokyu Hands.
Walk straight, away from the exit. You will pass a McDonalds and a Daily Yamazaki convenience store. Go over the road and its the first building on your right. There should be a sign for Yellow Submarine on the 4th floor (the sign is pretty high up). Go into the first door on the right and down the short corridor. Take the elevator to the 4th floor.
YS usually gets new GW releases and has a few older bits and pieces that didnt sell. They also stock GW paints and brushes. For 500 yen you can get a members card that gives you a 10% discount for 1 year. If you plan on spending over 5000 yen there then its a good deal. If it is raining when you go, you get an extra 5% discount.
Prices in Japan are VERY high when you compare them to the UK/US because of the exchange rates.
GW use 225 yen to the pound. The actual rate is 135 yen or so.
I find that it is cheaper to buy from the UK and get stuff sent to you rather than buy in Japan. If you have a credit card I suggest using either Wayland Games (link at the bottom of every page on this site) or www.maelstromgames.co.uk as the pound is very low at the moment.

Re: Hobby stores
Thanks a lot.
I went by the store today, it was a little to expensive.

Re: Hobby stores
Everything they sell is standard GW Japan prices I'm afraid. If you shop around you may find some bits and pieces on sale, but basically internet ordering from Europe is by far the cheapest option. If the exchange rates ever go back to normal then my purchasing habits will need to change.frans wrote:Thanks a lot.
