Tau Gun Drones

@Underdweller, Merry Christmas. I only squeaked by because those Drones were a kill point. Thus far it's 1 crushing victory for the Tau and 1 by-the-seat-of-thier-pants victory for the Boyz. 3rd time's the charm!

theses days drones off of the piraña and the devil fish don't count as kill points in most of the major tornaments in the US this ruling came about because the nid units that used to shoot kill points do not shoot kill points any more. I wonder if this ruling will used I Nagoya hammer. I can tell you right now that in the July tournament I am planing to run they will not count as kill points.

Some evidence to support this (FAQs from said major tourneys etc) would help make your case. The Adepticon INAT (biggest US event) says they ARE worth kill points unless all the drones die when the vehicle is destroyed as they never reach the tabletop to form a unit.

I know the argument for them not being kill points - They're wargear for my tank.
Here are the arguments for them being kill points:
They can contest objectives.
After the devilfish is destroyed the gun drones remain and can still collect kill points for the owner.
If you have 5 Piranha, then that is a squad of 10 gun drones, normally a 120 point unit.
They can assault a unit.
They can move separately from their tank.
You dont have to take them except on Piranha.

For NagoyaHammer they WILL be counting as a scoring unit unless both are killed when the vehicle is blown up. Should any gun drones reach the table (willingly detached/not killed when the vehicle is destroyed) they will generate kill points as usual.

Thats the best response you can come up with, an attempt to troll? I guess its better than yelling "That's g'ay," (Which I believe is Tau for "I find myself strongly opposed with the statement that you have just put forward.") but seriously, aside from you not liking the rule why wouldn't they be a kill point?

Tau Gun Drones attached to vehicles no longer give up kill points!!!!!
Oh wait, thats not quite what it says.
IF your gun drones are attached to a vehicle when it is destroyed, both the vehicle AND the drones are destroyed and ONLY the vehicle grants kill points.
IF you take the drones off the vehicle then they ARE worth kill points.

Old rules: If a vehicle is destroyed, drones take hits like passengers and if they survive, disembark and became kill points.

Is it an improvement? Is it a penalty? Is it GW saying "quit whining or we'll just take your toys away?" Who knows?
