Regular (and irregular) events in the Nagoya area can be posted up here. If you want to get your gaming fix, this is the place to look first.

To make this easier on everyone,

I'll throw a bunch of decks together.
The only work you have to do is show up and have fun.
:D

(But if you want to put your own deck together, be my guest.)

Editing the first post to reflect this.

While I will absolutely not buy a Magic card again (I think), I always loved throwing down or digging up an old collection, and putting to together ad hoc decks and just enjoying a few games of big Magic battles.
I might tempted if the time and date was right. Of course, I'll be super rusty on the rules.

I'm glad to see that there's been a fair bit of interest. :)

Who's free to play on the weekend of July 9-10?
Location: Nagoya
Exact venue: TBD

I will bring about 6 commander decks for people to use, or feel free to bring your own.

One note about the decks: They're packed full of powerful cards, but they're designed to be fun (I hope). I've shied away from dedicated counterspell/land destruction/discard/prison decks.

There is a gaming event in Tsu on the 9th I believe.

I see.
Well, is there anyone who was not planning to attend those events and who would like to play some Magic in Nagoya?

Alternate option:
Is anyone available this coming weekend, July 2-3, in the Tsu area? (Not Nagoya)

Hmmm...seems like those dates I put out there don't work for people.

So, what dates would work?

sorry Jesse, I appreciate that you do love your magic, but the biggest reason I have for shying away from it is deck building time. Much like yourself, i enjoy building decks. To play with a pre-built deck removes most of the fun for me. However, when I do deckbuild I spend far, far too much of my time doing it, and this time really needs to be spent on other things like eating food, talking to the wife, and generally doing other stuff around the house. tbh, i dont even have time to paint, these days - i havent picked up a paintbrush for about a month.

So, many apologies, but Magic is not for me. :(

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

No worries. Keep me up to date.

Understood, my friend.
Actually, this thread was never directed at you since you've made these feelings clear in the past.
I'm similar to you in that the joy of Magic is usually about 80%--20% deckbuilding--playing, with that 20% being playing to test whether the other 80% was done right. ;)
Hope you find time to pick the paintbrush up again soon.
