From one of Mantic's distributors:
We have received some preliminary information from Mantic for their sci-fi release coming in November. The Warpath Starter is planned to contain 55 models, 2 vehicles, dice, rules and Mantic points and retail for $74.99. The final name of the product should be chosen in mid-August. As we do not have an exact date, this product has been placed in the TBA PreOrders section for now. When we have more information, it will be updated accordingly.

I shall be keeping an eye on that. More for the minis though as I don't see the point in starting a new ruleset.

I think they are quite nice they have an RT era feel to them... in my book that is always a good thing...

...They're going with "Orx"?

Really?

Sorry, some content is called for. The not-Squat looks pretty dang good, and the not-Ork is fine for what it is, namely a complete knock-off of what GW does. (Not, in their defense, that there's really too many options for translating your standard fantasy orc into a sci-fi setting. Props to the not-Squat for not going the Viking route.)
Feel free to call me Dave!

the not-squat is ok, but the not-ork is really rather good. I think I prefer the style of the head to the GW one. Looks more menacing.

No. The squat looks like one of their fantasy ones with a couple of guns added.

Yes. He is better than their fantasy orcs.

That was certainly my first impression as well.

Overall, I think the models are ok, but not "Wow, I want!!!" by a long shot.

Bell of Lost Souls have some exclusive pictures of the Forge Fathers (aka Space Dwarves, aka Squats).
Maybe it's the paint job, maybe it's just me, but those models are fugly. ;)
