So what kind of Warhammer Fantasy goes on around here?

What armies do you guys play here in/around Nagoya? What size of battles?

For my foray into Warhammer Fantasy, I've pretty much made up my mind to work on a Wood Elf army first (yeah, I know), followed by Dwarves.

Most folks play at around the 2000 point mark, though the veteran players usually have bigger forces to choose from and multiple armies as well.
In Nagoya we have the following armies:
Beastmen 1
Bretonnians 0 (maybe 1 in the future)
Daemons of chaos 1
Dark elves 1
Dwarfs 2
Empire 1 (soon to be 2)
High elves 2
Lizardmen 1
Orcs & goblins 1
Ogre kingdoms 0 (but I think a Japanese player is building an army now)
Skaven 1
Tomb kings 0
Vampire counts 2
Wood elves 1
Warriors of Chaos 1 (though I dont think he has enough for a full army yet).

Outside of the Nagoya gaming club, there are several more players with more Dark Elves, Orcs and Warriors of Chaos.

Cool, so there's reasonably good variety out there.

Good to know! I've been reading the game rules and Wood Elf codex, so I'll be making an army list over the next week or two.

You poor guy. Apparently, Prim regards the Seki and the pan-Gifu community to be separate from Nagoya. Too bad, if we could just create more bridges between the two gaming communities... :D

Anyway, Tenorikuma, if you have questions about the dwarves I could try to be of assistance, but otherwise I would suggest some games as you expand your force, so you can get a feel of what you need to balance your collection and not get overwhelmed with the collecting and painting. Have fun with it all. :)
