Mondo books league friday nights once or twice a month... league where each player plays one team in a 2 leg round robin played over a 8-10 month period... as Da Komish this is what I would propose

Sorry to be blunt, but no.

I want to play BB for fun. I do not want to need to play x number of players in any given time period. Add to that that I will likely never even see mondo books, much less play there, it makes no sense for me to agree to a league. I want to play BB whenever I want, against whomever I want. I want to keep my team going consistently and gain skills. That is all. No leagues, no need for a commissioner. The one overriding appeal of blood bowl for me is that it's non competitive.

Sorry, just keeping it all clear and unambiguous.

Hey why not a loosely organized league with a standing but no strict schedule? The games could be recorded and when a tournament came around the organizer could create a subjective standing based on your record and the "strength of schedule". There would be no pressure to play a schedule or compete in a tournament other then for fun. Something like a cross between intetnational soccer and college football/basketball.

I've never done blood bowl, but now I'm tempted to make a halfling team.

Halflings are surprisingly tough and fun if played well. They're certainly a laugh regardless.
But they're not the easiest team to learn the game with, and you may find yourself really frustrated.

Orcs and Undead are a lot more forgiving, and still give you that satisfaction of smashing things.

if you will not be coming to Mondo then this will not have much to do with you.

for folks that can make it I am sure it will be fun... the point of leagues it to enjoy the leveling up but if folks just want pick up games I am not keen to even play. Not keen because BB is a game that plays best when there is something to gain... if not well one my just play 40k or FB they can also just make up a team give it the skills they want with out anyone knowing if they really have the skills or not... in a proper league there is a paper trail and a set time and place to play the games... it is the funnest way I have played BB both on line and table top.

I might add that if anyone wants to play for fun they are welcome to do so....

I just feel that a league with a commissioner was the way the game was intended to be played and in the end is the most fun.

I would also like to thank MIJ for his continued support of folks on this sight as well as his open mindedness to new ideas and positive attitude to gaming in general.

I nearly won out on line league with my Halflings they are heaps of fun and if you play with start players 3 tree men can just crush your opponents.

humans are also a fun team that can play well against most other teams...the are a bit more boring than the others teams though.

*edit* oooh, never mind. I wrote a big long response. Not a helpful one, though, so I deleted it.
