What did you do today.
Re: What did you do today.
Did all the house running, slept for 4 hours in the afternoon. Found the right mix of blue finally for my Landwehr skirmishers. Based them. Dipped 27 others. Based another 30. Only 20 models to go of 112!
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

By the way I had a slice of that cheesecake and ummmhmmmm that was a tasty cheesecake. Washed down with clotted cream and coffee.

I think the top of that cheesecake needs some more highlighting. It just doesn't pop, y'know?
I based up the bio-tanks I finished painting last week, finished up the brown on my second-to-last batch of 'nids, and did the first pass of primer on the last batch. Still looks on track to finish up by the 3rd, knock on wood.
(Still no sign of my Zuzzy mat, though.

I got some painting done today. I painted the bases and washed 12 Necron Scarab Swarms. I also painted the living room carpet due to my awe-inspiring lack of hand-eye co-ordination.

Re: What did you do today.
got about half way through a banshee test colour scheme. I think it looks...odd, but not necessarily in a bad way. Mostly today was taken up with base coating and shading the wee niggly bits like pouches, runes and weapons, of which there are many. The armour plates otoh were done in 30mins, which is a huge improvement over the scorps, who took feckin ages. I'm thinking blue hair, sword, and gemstones, btw.

Today I got my 12 necron scarab swarms finished. I need to put all the basing materials on them, but I'm going to do that for the whole army all in one go, so they are done for now. I also painted up some markers for Sunday's game of Black Powder with Ash.

Today I got my counters finished for Black Powder. I also cut up some foam to transport my Napoleonic minis and finished re-reading the BP rulebook so I am all set for the game on Sunday.

Re: What did you do today.
Today I didnt do anything hobby or model related really. I took my wife shopping for her Xmas present and bought her a nice winter coat. Afterwards I managed to talk her into buying my present. Originally I wasnt going to buy this as it would be expensive to get both this and the minis to go with it. But with this being paid for by my wife I will be able to get the models myself, Thousands of them!

Re: What did you do today.
finished my test banshee. I'd put a pic in the Nov WIP thread, but everybody seems to have jumped in here, so I'll put em here for convenience.

and her bum, which shows the gradiation of colour better.

These are, truth be told, pretty crappy pics. She's only done to tabletop level, but the pics are decidedly meh nonetheless. (I used the iphone rather than my usual fancy set up. cant be arsed setting up the fancy today. Maybe tomorrow.)
Some things which dont really show up in the pics at all:
1) There's a verra smooth gradation in colour top to bottom from a pale blue (almost white) through a sandy colour, through a mid brown to a very neutral dark brown/grey (similar to graveyard earth)
2) All highlights on armour plates have been hand painted on using spacewolf grey mixed with whichever shade the base colour was (usually sand/tan colour)
3) her hair is really quite bright blue. The highlights are pure white, and the majority of her hair is ultramarine. There is 0 black on this model. Ditto the guns. Darkest shade is codex grey. I have no idea why it all looks so dark in the pics.
I have some questions for y'all:
first of all:
what are folks general opinions?
and
should I just stop bucking the trend and just paint her hair flaming orange?
on 2nd look, those are really shitty pictures. Yeesh.

Re: What did you do today.
@M_i_J - First impressions:
She looks like she's been running through the mud and that her boots are dirty, any particular reason you went for a top to bottom colour change?
The blue hair looks good, it doesnt need to be orange unless that is the colour you want it to be.
She looks like she has a very deep belly button.
It's hard to make out the highlights with the pictures you have there, maybe some better piccies to show off your work? Overall, the mini looks like you've put in a lot of effort. From what I can see, the changing shades look smoothly done.
