I'd use tamiya. they do a huge range of military type colours, so you should be able to find one that suits ok. If you have an airbrush you can do aaaaaaall sorts of ace on a tank. Failing that, if you can get two shades of your base colour (one a wee bit darker/lighter than the other) you can still get a nice shady/airbrushy effect, just far less controlled.)

re: banshee colours: aspect colours are actually the same regardless of craftworld. This is why all eldar armies look like patchwork blankets. On the plus side, it makes it really easy to tell units apart. The colours on the banshee are standard ones, except for the hair being blue. Usually its flaming red/orange.

@spev - aaaaaw, wook at da widdle man. kawaaaiiiiiiiii

No painting for me yesterday, but I did do some more work on getting my room sorted out. Oh and I glued some sand to the bases of my epic army ready for ToD's event at the weekend. Just need to paint them now. :D

I only spent about 20 minutes painting today, but I did go to Tokyu Hands and get some wooden discs made to use as bases for Wood Elf forests. Picked up some miscellaneous modelling supplies as well.

Man, I love Tokyu Hands. You can just go, select some material, and tell the guys there what you want done with it.

what I wouldnt give for a place like that round here...

Can you get little pedestals in Tokyu Hands? Like, for mounting display minis on (or trophies)? I have no idea where I can get such things without spending silly money on em.

back on topic: what I did today was paint the pouches and gubbins on banshee number 2. I'm already fed up with painting grey, and I still have another 8 to go :( It's funny how it looks blue, mind you. Must be all the beige surrounding it. Still, with that done it's only hair and gems in blue then cloth in orange and on to banshee number 3 :) slow and steady, slow and steady...

Yeah, they have a whole aisle of them, made in different sizes with different kinds of wood. Or you can pick a block of wood and get them to make you one to size.

*MiJ's li'l ears perk up...*

reeaaaheeaheaaheeaaally? I'll need to check that out next time I'm in Nagoya. (which is possibly going to be sometime at the end of december, if folks up there are up for a game of something. Looking at you here, Prim... (or anybody else in the area.)

I don't suppose you know how much they cost, ball park?

Also - one other thing I did today was receive my Spectre Phoenix Lord and eldar pirate upgrades in the mail from forgeworld. I've bought a fair amount of stuff from them over the years and havent had much trouble with it at all, but ye gads! the bendy/warping issues with this latest batch is astounding! Nowt I cant fix with some hot water (I very much hope) but still, MiJ is displeased

Sorry to hear about your bendy resin problems M_i_J
Of course I am up for gaming.

Today I did some more work on the bases of my epic models and that was pretty much it.

Maybe 500 to 1000 yen. My piece of plain wood was ¥450, and they charged ¥400 or so to cut two circles and a square from it. A nice bevel would probably be extra.

As I got up early today I was able to finish basing my epic models. They're all ready for this weekend.

Good work. Hope to see them and vanquish them Saturday (with ToD's toys). :D

I got some painting on a few dwarf models but recently there has been little progress in the hobby department but way too much in the procurements department! Egad! :o
