From that point of view Blue table painting is not too bad of a deal.

So thats 25000 yen to paint them all up? Thats not a bad deal actually. Does that also include shipping to Japan?

You see, that is the part I enjoy the most. Far more than the painting at any rate.
If you want some help assembling models I'm sure we could work something out as a trade off for airbrushing some base colours onto some figures.

So my new total if I wanted a highly tailored personal army to a Bogenhafen theme, based and illustrated to specifics of an old fantasy roleplay scenario would be in the region of 1400 dollors. More than I originally thought. The other option is to give them artistic license and have it at 800 dollors, that means I have no input on the scheme and they get free reign.
I've run this idea past Keiko and she pretty much brought me back to reality as fast as you could say knife. She put to me these basic factors. 1: Why would you spend all that money, think of the paint and materials you could get instead. 2: Why would you deprive yourself of the painting when that is your favourite part of the hobby. 3: Given recent painting projects and obsessions with speed painting it would take me 2 to 3 weeks to paint 90 models so why pay someone else to do it.
4: Your finished painting will be 100 times more satisfying and to the specifics you want compared with anyone elses version. Possibly as good as them if not better in your mind.
Women, you got to love them. Why do they know so much about common sense.

I'd listen to the Missus if I were you. Not that I think paying for a fully painted army is a bad thing, just that ignoring her will probably lead to a nasty argument at some point down the line.
Maybe getting a couple of centrepiece models (General, BSB, Steam Tank) done would be possible, or go for the front rank of each unit and do the rear ranks yourself? 1400 dollars is a lot of cash to drop on 1 army.

#Edit# - Plus I think Empire are in the pipeline for this year (been a while since I checked the WFB rumours though), so dont go spending that kind of money until the book is revamped. Finding that you dont need half your units or that you need 1 more model would be a major downer.

The missus speaks sense. I find myself agreeing with all her points. Factor in the baby too and you have another reason not to drop a big wad of cash. That amount would pay for a shitload of nappies and baby food.

I can't fathom why anybody would have another person paint their minis for them at all, other than for a friendly swap or something. I mean, if time is the issue, either do them quickly yourself (to less than your usual standard), or just don't paint them. (leave em for later). As has been pointed out - painting is (more than) half the fun. likewise assembling - I hate to see a shoddily assembled mini - dynamics are everything.
